My husband and I had an amazing experience at Geppetto Trattoria! The food was absolutely delicious — the mushroom arancini and focaccia were a perfect start, the pasta special was fantastic, and the eye fillet was cooked to perfection. Everything was full of flavour and beautifully presented. Also, the cocktails we had were delicious. The staff were warm and friendly, making us feel genuinely welcome, and you can ask them to recommend a wine to perfectly match your meal. Highly recommend this spot for anyone after authentic, high-quality Italian food in a relaxed and friendly setting.

Stumbled upon Geppetto Trattoria, and I’m so glad I did. The porchetta e peperonata was absolutely outstanding — perfectly cooked pork with that crispy crackling, and the sweet, smoky peperonata balanced it beautifully. Classic, honest Italian cooking done right.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with that old-school trattoria charm, and the service was friendly without being overbearing. You can tell this place is run with heart. Great spot for a relaxed, satisfying meal before or after the footy or a concert at the ‘G.

However when you walk inside, it’s nice and cosy.
I was served upon a little bite for starter and it was delicious. Tried seafood spaghetti and truffle mushroom risotto. I was really impressed by the portion and quality of the food. Beautifully seasoned and flavours are nicely balanced and complement well with each other. Of course al dente.
Took away the tiramisu to try at home. It was a really nice classic tiramisu.
Service was great! The waitress was really friendly and attentive.

Very disappointing food and service. We ordered 3 mains 1 entree and a dessert. The taste was mediocre and definitely not worth the money. For example, the agnolotti that we ordered only had four small pasta parcels and the price for the main was $43, which effectively means that each small parcel costs $10.75! The tiramisu was soggy and inedible and tasted far worse than the ones sold at Aldi. We took a bite and politely asked for the tiramisu to be returned. The staff took it away and didn’t try to address the issue and we were still charged at the end. The staff didn’t show the hospitality that we’d expect at a restaurant of this calibre which was disappointing. Definitely don’t recommend this restaurant.

We ate there last night. Everything was excellent: the friendly, efficient service; the absolutely amazing food. We hadn’t booked and we ate upstairs, which was quiet and managed by really professional waitress, who was attentive, polite and helpful.
It wasn’t cheap, but it was wonderful food, which had been prepared by somebody who really cared about what they made.

Amazing authentic Italian cuisine. We visited after the Australian Open for dinner. A short stroll from Melbourne Park. Well worth it and way better than take away on the grass amongst the crowds. The seafood pasta was magnificent.

My new favourite, best Italian we’ve had in Melbourne. Truly delicious calamari, fish (loved the sardine dish which so many cannot get right). Food is extremely fresh, packed with flavour, cooked with care and expertise. Lighting is low and pretty and music is so jazzy and cool super relaxing (no sensory overload). You can tell the owners care about this business and every detail and want to create a gorgeous experience for people who appreciate good food and good atmosphere. Cute for date nights or just a really nice meal
