Great authentic Colombian cuisine. The fish was fresh, the sangria was flavorful, and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. Their guacamole is easily one of the best I’ve had—packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The restaurant offers plenty of parking in the back, and the bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. Definitely a spot worth returning to!

Came here with my in-laws and their friends. They ordered the tamales. It was so delicious, full of flavor and spices and huge portion! The soup was also amazing! I was not expecting it to be that large! The chicken was fall off the bone tender. The coffee was so cute and tiny! My in laws loved it! The arepitas was so tiny but fresh and delicious! My soup came with rice and salad but I brought that home. For dessert we had arroz con leche and mousse. I didn’t try the rice but the mouse was wonderful! It was a coconut black raspberry mousse with the texture of like flan. Service was wonderful and fast! Everything was delicious and homemade! Will def be back!

Craving a taste of Colombia without leaving New Jersey? Colombian food embodies a sense of delightful magic that’ll have your taste buds tingling at the first bite. This South American cuisine is woven from a rich blend of cultural influences reflecting the heritage of the indigenous and the Spanish. Some common favorites are bandeja paisa, chicharró (fried pork belly), black beans, rice, plantains, avocado, and an arepa.
Located in the heart of Hackensack on Mercer Street, this establishment has been at the former site of OG of Colombia since 1990, where my partner, our friends, and I decided for lunch. Just ask any local, and they’ll tell you that Villa de Colombia is one of the best and most authentic BYOB restaurants for Latin cuisine in Bergen County. The reservation was easily made by calling into the restaurant for a party of 5.
Upon entering as first-timers, we were greeted by the staff and got a table right away in their comfortable, clean, and cozy-vibe interior at their main dining room.
The menu features authentic Colombian cuisine. But as evidence of the ever-expanding community, they have integrated other Latin American and Spanish recipes—something for everyone.
As an appetizer, I decided on the beef empanada. For the main meal, we opted for Pechuga De Pollo En Salsa De Champiñones, Tamal Colombiano, Quesadilla Mixta, and Quesadilla Colombiana.
Complimentary warm arepitas with hot sauce started our meal.
The food was served hot, well prepared, full of flavor, tasty, and delicious. The quality and amount of food one gets for the price is unbeatable. The service was professional, friendly, and not rushed, and our server was Esteban.
This was a real treat where all the boxes were checked, which we can recommend.

Hidden gem in Hackensack, charming place to go with family and friends, food was delicious and on point. One fact that we love was that once you finish your plates they are not rushing you to pay and leave! A must go place!

This is the original OG of Colombian restaurants in Hackensack. The taste and the quality is super consistent. The service is great and attentive. Super nice waiting staff. The best dish and the staple of Colombian cuisine is of course the famous Bandeja Paisa. Best Paisa around, better than the chain Colombian Restaurants in the area. I highly recommend. Best part, is it’s BYOB.

If you are looking for a little more privacy and just been able to enjoy good food and conversation, this is the place. The food is delicious and the staff is super friendly. The prices are a little steep and don’t expect larger quantities of food like in Noches. You get what you order. The food was served immediately within minutes of ordering , which my friend and I found kind of odd. The fish wasn’t fresh but the parts of it were good. Overall, quiet place where you can hear each other talk.

We came midweek for dinner, were seated promptly by a friendly waiter. The churrasco salad was good and the arroz con Frito mixto was ok and enough for an entree for 2. The coffee I ordered was pretty good. Be aware that your check will have a 15% tip added automatically, even if you are dining alone, which is not customary and will be off-putting to some customers.
