This place in my opinion was pretty forgettable. While the size of the steak is good I thought it just tasted like something I would make at home. Nothing special. The salad was very basic and not good. For a steak and salad with top $110 is not worth it in my opinion given that it wasn’t delicious. I guess people don’t eat steak much/ cook for themselves so this place is good to them? Not sure but it was good experience.

We were treated to Doe’s by my husbands parents and wow, what an amazing experience!! Food was amazing. I had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. The salad was so simple yet so refreshing and delicious. And the tamales were some of the best I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone! Don’t let the looks of the place fool you. Everyone working was super friendly.

Tamales were delicious Steaks were good, needed a tad more seasoning. Homemade fries delicious! Salads were good… Husband didn’t like the salad bc the lettuce was wilted. Dressing was flavorful. Spaghetti 1/2 order for kids- they devoured it.

Wow what a meal! Everything was amazing! We were greeted at the door by a very friendly waitress that seated us. We started out with the tamales and sautéed shrimp with garlic bread. The tamales were dang good but man those shrimp were the bomb! We both ordered the porthouse steak and man were they monstrous! They were both cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. The filet side of the steak was unbelievably tender and favorable. The strip side which is generally tougher was almost as tender as the filet side. The waitress did an exceptional job taking care of us. Unbelievable meal, will definitely be back!

Guy was very friendly, woman, bless her, didnt know how to use the register.
The tamales were nowhere as good as they used to be. These were so dry, you almost choked, and the flavor…meh!!!

Phenomenal is best way to put it. Steak is a 10/10, salad, and fries. It was all perfection from the server to the food.

A Mississippi gem that only gets better with age!! We drove here from South Mississippi, a total of almost 8 hours just driving today. This was my second time eating here, but the last time was back probably 20 years ago. The food is just as amazing as I remembered it. The tamales, shrimp, and bread were delicious. Has everyone might expect, the steaks were phenomenal. Ordered the porterhouse, and was greeted with a Flintstones like chunk of meat that was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. We left our hometown at 2:00 p.m. and got back home at 1:00 a.m. and must say, it was absolutely worth it. All of the staff were so friendly, I hope me back much sooner this time!

A Delta Gem!
The Original Does. Great steaks. Tender. Cooked to order. Seasoned well. Great people. Great service.
This is a must-see Delta experience.
The house:restaurant is old. It’s not squeaky clean. You walk through the “kitchen” to be seated. Charm!
Lemon and oil dressing on the salad. It’s good. Get some butter for your Melba toast crackers and bread!
The broiled Shrimp as an appetizer hit the spot. The bread is perfect for the au jus.
The filet is tender, succulent and delicious. All of the beef is seasoned well, tender, and cooked to your preference. It may be just under…..
BYOB- liquor and wine and a good selection of beers and seltzers.
The homemade fries are divine.
The place is old. You enter through the kitchen. This is where white collar and blue collar meet! This is a near century long tradition in the Delta!
Great tamales , too!
Go here. Eat here. Return!

As a native Mississippian, I’d heard about how amazing Doe’s in Greenville was for years. For Father’s day 2023 my family decided to make the 3.5 hour one way drive to try it for ourselves. It was worth every mile! The porterhouse steak was the best steak I’ve ever eaten, and the broiled shrimp were succulent and delicious. The atmosphere drips authenticity and the story if the bootlegging founder and his hardworking family who have made this humble establishment a James Beard award winning icon should be experienced by all foodies. I’ve dined in restaurants all over the country, and I’d put Doe’s up against any of them for quality and experience. Our table was seated in the kitchen so we got an up-close view of the process. An all-around incredible experience!
