Visited La Cueva recently and left a little unsure of its overall focus. The menu felt primarily Spanish, but with a mix of Italian-style pasta and fusion dishes that didn’t quite come together. The paella wasn’t awful, but it didn’t resemble the many paellas I’ve had before and isn’t something I’d order again. Their signature creamy chicken split opinions at the table. The sauce was genuinely delicious, but the use of mostly dry chicken breast really affected the texture. Better cuts like thigh or leg would have worked much better. Shrimps were good, but most other dishes were fairly forgettable. Service was alright, but nothing stood out.

Defo a top pic for south Manchester. Great food, outstanding service and the atmosphere is great. The food was prepared with love and the flavours were intricate. I can recomend anyone this place, they have a salt cave too! Overall a great meal and experience made even more special by the great staff they have that made you feel special. Bravo!

Been here several years ago and thought it was good then, decided to revisit since we were in the area. It has grown in size since our last visit, a pleasant environment, a great little room with a table for 10 seperate to the main dining area if you want a family affair. The food was really good and its not often I say that, the spare ribs were excellent, the meat just fell off the bone, the mussels were in a lovely sauce, the croquettes were fairly standard. All in all its definitely worth a visit and we would return if and when we are in the area.

Food was delicious, we ordered alsorts between the 4 of us that were there for a friends birthday, creamy chicken was a stand out dish for me, washed down with 2 jugs of homemade sangria I think the ladies name was Gabby who made it ! Real authentic stuff and enjoyed by all, the other lady present serving us was called Julie, I made a point of taking their names specifically to leave such a positive review, both very friendly ladies and we will definitely be going back, if the owner reads this you have a brilliant team there, lastly we went on a Wednesday night and the atmosphere was good, nice and chilled with no being rushed, thanks ladies see you next time

From the excellent reviews, I was expecting a lot. I wasn’t disappointed. The menu contains the traditional tapas options, with the odd twist. Everything we ordered was delicious. We ordered 6 tapas between the two of us. This ended up being quite a bit of food. We still managed it though. Some dishes are on the pricey side, but the quality made them worth it. The mushrooms in cream, the pork belly and the albondigas (with cheese) were the highlights. But, as mentioned, everything was delicious.

Delicious food and great service. We were lucky enough to be seated in the salt cave which really added to the atmosphere. The staff were fantastic and really friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend a visit.

All dishes ordered were tasty, and the Paella was packed with seafood.
It was my sisters birthday, and they came out and sang happy birthday to her, which was a really sweet gesture.
They even put a candle in her ice cream.

Ate early evening on a Saturday with the two kids. Was relatively quiet when we arrived, which was great as we went to sit through the back section of the restaurant. Would recommend this if possible as it has a lovely intimate atmosphere with a low ceiling and salt stone walls. By the time we had finished dining, the place was pretty much full.
The staff were really pleasant and attentive, and actually apologised for being short-staffed but you would never had known.
Now to the food… Wow! As good as any tapas I’ve had in Spain. Our order included garlic prawns, meatballs, creamy chicken, chicken wings and the ham croquettes. It was hard to pick out a stand-out dish as all were absolutely superb! And another amazing thing was how fast the food came out, with everything being piping hot.
Can’t believe it has taken me so long to get round to trying this place! Will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Being a Spaniard in Manchester, I’ve found it quite hard to find a Spanish place with an authentic taste that’s not overpriced. La Cueva positively surprised me! The food took me right back to Spain – I was a little child again enjoying my grandma’s cooking. The portions were decently sized and the atmosphere was great. Definitely will be coming back!
