As a new home owner in Randolph, Sun Sun was a very pleasent surprise.
GOOD: Price, portion, quality – all there
BAD: Nothing much, orange chicken needs more crunch
Sun Sun was a great choice. I ordered the dinner combo (orange chicken, crab ragoon and a pork egg roll) Pairing appetizers and entrees is a genius idea, more take out should do it. The huge platter portion for just over 15 bucks will last me 3 or 4 meals (see pics).
My one small snag, is a snag that bites many takeout Chinese places – whether it’s sesame, general tsos or orange chicken – not fried enough. The under fry didn’t ruin my experience. I loved the food, I will just request “extra crispy.” Sun Sun is worth a try – order hungry.
Look at the pictures. Roughly 6 pounds of food, good food, for $30. Holy moly.
Two of my biggest pet peeves here in Maine have been lack of flavor and tiny servings at high prices, with the servings seeming to shrink for take out.
NOT here!
Everything was scrumptious (well tbf the fried rice was just okay, but everything else was *fire*), they were fast, reasonably priced, and omg at the amount of food.
I wish I’d tried it sooner!
UPDATE: I’m sad to report that they have really gone down hill in the quality of their food over the past year. I’ve ordered their beef teriyaki appetizer three times over the past few months and EACH time is was cold, tough, unflavorful and dried out, even when I arrived early and had to wait for it to come out of the kitchen. Compare that to other places that I go to where the teriyaki is hot, tender, and glistens with the marinade. For me, the sun has set on Sun Sun, I’ll spend my money elsewhere.
