The perfect neighborhood bar. You feel the vibe the moment you walk in—walls covered in photos of real people, real memories. The draft selection is solid, but the food is what really takes it over the top. You have to get the fried cheese and the cheesesteak egg rolls. And that red sauce? So good it has me coming back just to try more of the menu. Honestly, this place is a great representation of what makes Philly special.

We stopped her for drinks. The fries were amazing. My guava margarita was real good. I cant wait to go back and try more food. The place is small but cozy. The service was great.

Decided to check this place out after seeing a number of reviews on social media and was not disappointed! The Smashburger was absolutely delicious, I mean, look at those patties – now THAT is a smash burger. I liked that the side it came with gave a mix of French fries and chips vibes, and the Smashburger sauce went so well with everything! The only downside was that I thought the pizza I ordered (Grandma Hot Jawn) was very average, though was still good, but I think my expectations were pretty high based on how much I had send this place hyped up. Crust was definitely thicker than I thought it would be for a grandma pie, and I had ordered it “extra crispy” but was disappointed to find the undercarriage was not really crispy at all. But overall would still recommend – definitely go there for their burgers!

Bar Jawn is the perfect spot to go to for the best bar food, drinks, service, local community vibes, and Philly sports-watching experience! I am a member of a local non-profit organization for adaptive sports in Philly, and David at Bar Jawn did not hesitate to offer to support our organization. He was mor than happy to organize a fundraiser at Bar Jawn, and along with his great team at Bar Jawn, our fundraiser was a huge success and one of the most fun outings we have had as a team. David and the Bar Jawn team genuinely care about the Philly community and supporting its local organizations. Anyone can serve good food and make tasty drinks, but it is rare to find spots that also care so much about giving back and supporting its local community.
I ordered the chicken Caesar nachos, brunch smash burger, cheesesteak egg rolls, mozzarella triangles, and the cheesecake egg rolls. The nachos were so unique and creative. Breaded chicken in the nachos were juicy and crispy with well-seasoned croutons with the perfect amount of caesar dressing. The smash burger stole the show though. The patty had the signature crispy edges that you expect form a smash burger while still being so juicy. The fried avocado and hollandaise (Hollan-Jawn) sauce paired perfectly in this burger as well. The potatoes on the side were so crispy and seasoned perfectly. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles and she said it was the best chicken and waffles she has ever had. That will be on my list for next time I go to Bar Jawn. The mozzarella triangles and cheesesteak egg rolls were cooked perfectly and were the best sides to pair with their cocktails and the Eagles game. The cheesecake egg rolls were so tasty with the crunch of the egg roll and the melty, creaminess of the cheesecake filling. I wish I had more space to try their pizzas that all looked and smelled so good, too.
I had a tequila espresso martini, blueberry spritz, tequila ranch water, and tequila shots. The blueberry spritz was the highlight of the day. It was such a well-made and delicious drink that hit the spot on a perfect Sunday afternoon.
If you are looking for a spot located in the heart of a thriving Philly neighborhood with the best smash burger, pizza, and food/drink menu that exemplifies all that is great about Philly, then look no further and go to Bar Jawn! Don’t forget to admire all of the pictures hung up all over the bar. Also, special shout-out to Kelly for being the best server we could have ever asked for. With a group of 20+ blind and visually impaired people, Kelly was so attentive, patient, and hands-on. She truly made our experience at Bar Jawn so special. Kelly and the rest of the staff were so welcoming and made us feel at home through our six hour time at Bar Jawn. Can’t wait to come back and hope you all check out Bar Jawn!

The food was amazing! Our server was great and she was super attentive. The ONLY reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because of the guy that initially helped us, skinny guy (I think maybe the bartender?). He seemed annoyed he had to help us at first and once we ordered he said “that’s a lot of food” which I’m not sure if it was meant rudely but either way that’s a weird thing to say to a customer. But once the female server took over it was a great experience so I would definitely return as long as I didn’t have to deal with that guy again.

Famous American Chef and Author, Anthony Bourdain talked about this restaurant and stated that the ‘name itself reflects the local flavor and character of Philadelphia’. The owners, Dave and Ana, have created elevated bar food with Italian inspiration.

We ordered the Cheesesteak (of course), a smash burger, boneless wings and mozzarella triangles.

The cheesesteak is seasoned chopped ribeye and cooper sharp. It is served in a homemade 9in seeded roll. The meat is well seasoned and the whole thing is what you want and expect a cheesesteak to be.

I unfortunately didn’t get to try the smash burger but it looked huge and absolutely delicious.

The boneless wings were tossed in a honey BBQ sauce. The wings were nicely coated and fried well.

Obviously being from Wisconsin we judge our fried cheeses and this one was done right! Check out that cheese stretch!

This is the jawn.

Bar Jawn is always a staple for me when I want a good happy hour or some comforting food. Everytime I would come in with a large party, they are very accommodating.

I highly recommend trying the cacio e pepe wings and the Jawn 1.0! The mozzarella triangles are always a must for me when I go too.

The service is always great here too

Ordered pizza. Was served a burnt, overpriced flatbread jigsaw puzzle cut into tiny squares like I was being rationed carbs. The crust is carbonized, the cheese is offended, and each piece costs approximately one mortgage payment.
Yes, I got a refund — which was issued with minimal eye contact, fewer words, and the warmth of a DMV line. No apology, no explanation, just vibes that said “please take this refund and leave quietly.” Would recommend only if you enjoy artisanal disappointment with a side of silence.
