Reviews
Anyway, the whole point as to why I’m writing this review.. this place felt very authentic New Orleans. My mother was pagan, and so after awhile being here I kind of started feeling the same nostalgic feeling I used to get being around her. This place has an eccentric feeling that kind of gets to you and almost pulls you in. At one point, me and someone I was with went all the way upstairs, and nobody was there except a girl (staff) who ended up telling us about a ghost pushing things off of the shelves. This is one of those places that feels like it has a real soul to it. Everyone is so welcoming and the live music just totally added to it all. The place was small and crowded, but very homey in a good way.
I loved getting to experience it, thank you for sharing a bit of your restaurant and culture with us.
The Speakeasy upstairs is a must-see — such a unique atmosphere with incredible decor. Honestly, the decor both upstairs and downstairs is beautiful and adds so much character to the experience.
Now, the food… AMAZING. Everything was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. I had the Bayou Blackened Unicorn Fish — hands down incredible. My husband ordered the Pollo Carnivale and loved it so much that he ordered it again the second time we visited. We also tried the Jalapeño Bacon Cornbread (delicious), Fried Green Tomatoes (soooo good), and the Sautéed Garlic Portobello Mushrooms — a must-have.
They have an extensive whiskey selection, and my favorite was the 17-year Craigellachie. Dessert did not disappoint either! Chef Gypsy’s New Orleans Sticky Bun was outstanding and even better the next day. The Cinnamon Coffee Cake was packed with flavor and smelled amazing, and the fresh Beignets were absolutely delicious — also even better the next day.
Overall, we loved it so much that we went back a couple of days later, and once again, the experience and food were top-notch. Cafe Paradiso is a true gem, and we can’t wait to return!
here to see perfect views. Food was great. They also have a great weekly lineup of entertainment. We played cards while waiting. There was a deck of cards on the side table.
I got there shortly after opening and everyone was smiling and clearly happy I was there!
This place is like a small little patch of heaven snatched right out of the Bayou and dropped right down here in Florida!!
Everything is homemade, even the chorizo I had in my omelette, which was an amazing omelette! Also easily one of the best loaded bloody Mary’s I have ever had in my entire life!!
The staff is talkative and very friendly. I spoke with the chef a little and learned a bit about the place. But if you wanna learn, you’re gonna have to go check it out yourself mon ami!
Au revoir!!
