I will definitely be back! I ordered the ribeye and the asparagus. Both were delicious. I also ordered the Rosemary herbed flavored chicken for a lunch at work the next day. It was delicious also. I will visit again! Thank you to the cashier at the Elgin Emporium for the recommendation.

Joseph’s Steak House was a complete disaster from start to finish. My fiancé ordered a house salad that initially tasted fine but ended with a terrible, lingering aftertaste from the vinaigrette dressing definitely not fresh or balanced. We ordered a ribeye that came out overcooked, which was disappointing, but at least the waiter was polite and replaced it with one cooked to our liking. As for my T bone steak, it was an absolute nightmare. The meat was of such low quality that it was nearly impossible to cut through because of the excessive nerve and membrane. When I showed it to the waiter, he was courteous and offered a replacement, but I declined out of frustration. To make matters worse, later that night, my fiancé suffered severe food poisoning and had to be rushed to the emergency room. This place clearly lacks quality control in both food preparation and ingredient standards. The experience was not only unpleasant but also dangerous. I strongly advise avoiding Joseph’s Steak House if you value your health and your money.

My wife and I tried Joseph’s a 2nd time after their relocation. The first time was right after the re-opened and it was good. We went again last night and they have really stepped up their game. The service was prompt and the waitress was pleasant. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. The food was the star of the show though. My wife had the chicken fried chicken that was lightly battered with a bacon gravy. Absolutely delicious. I had the pork chops and they were tender and cooked to perfection. It was obvious they had been brined and the flavor was superb. All the sides are good but the au gratin potatoes are our favorite. Highly recommend.

This gem was quiet and delicious! My husband and I arrived about 4:30pm, we’re seated immediately and served in reasonable time frames. The music was just right, ambient background music. The steaks were cooked as requested. I definitely recommend!

Wonderful; delicious dinner; great customer service by entire staff. Hostess (Bailey) was super friendly, sweet and smiles, made sure we were ok while we were waiting for a table; kept checking in with us whenever she was passing our table. Server (Carlos) was very attentive as well. We were well taken care of. Food was delicious!! We live 25 min away but it’s worth the drive, we will be back. I def recommend!

It was kind of quiet for a Saturday evening. Greeted immediately and seated. Drink order was immediate and the white Russian was right on. My mother ordered bourbon salmon, it was delicious. I has the chicken fried chicken, been looking for a good one since Lone Star Cafe. Friend had one of the steaks cooked perfect and was really impressed by the smoked baked potato. I don’t write reviews but I’ll be back.

Came for lunch and had a great meal. Super happy to have this option in downtown Elgin. The fresh bread at the beginning of the meal is a nice touch. We ordered a bottle of the house red and it was a solid/affordable choice. My lunch date ordered the Salmon and it had a nice flavor to it. Her side dish: the charred asparagus were cooked well. I ordered the filet with mushrooms and chipotle mash as my side dish- the chipotle mash was by far the yummiest bite! Highly recommend you ask for it and see if it’s available. For dessert we got the chocolate cake- but I recommend you order the homemade key lime pie instead.

We’ve gone to the new location twice now and it’s amazing! Christian was our server both times and has been flawless! We love that it’s in the old city cafe building and that they kept some of the CityCafe charm. Definitely will be going back!

This place had a nice, small town feel to it. The food was homemade, rich in flavor, and savory down to every last bite. Prices are reasonable compared to what you’ll pay and any steak house chain restaurant. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Will stop by again when passing through.
