We were really excited to try this place, especially the dino ribs. My daughter found them on Facebook and we saw so many videos hyping them up, so that’s honestly what we were most looking forward to. Unfortunately, they were super dry and just disappointing overall.
The brisket sandwich was okay — a little dry but still edible. Nothing special. The pulled pork sandwich wasn’t my favorite because of the sauce they use. It just wasn’t for me, but my daughter actually liked it, so that one might just be personal preference.
The sides were really hit or miss. The street corn was basically plain white corn with chili powder sprinkled on top. No mayo, no butter, nothing to make it feel like actual street corn. That one was a letdown. The cheesy potatoes were very dry too, and I even had a chunk of uncooked potato on my plate, which shouldn’t happen.
On a positive note, the bacon mac was really good, and the hibiscus tea was delicious.
Overall, we left feeling pretty underwhelmed, especially considering how much we were looking forward to it. I really wanted to love it, but it just didn’t live up to the hype.

Food was awesome! Prices were a little high, but the quantity was more than enought. I was a little disappointed the way they have it set up, where you order and pay first then sit and eat. But there was a nice young man who brought you the food and checked up on you. The parking was….ummm, there is no parking. Lol. Other than that A++

The food is really good. Its different but the taste of it amazing. I had the brisket sandwich with the hibiscus tea and my sister had the fully loaded sweet potato with the sweet potato corn bread. You guys killed it. I will for sure be coming back to try something else.

Everything was great except the street corn seemed overcooked, tasty but overcooked. Loaded sweet potato was fantastic. Chicken thighs had great flavor. What I really enjoyed was the pork belly bites, good stuff.

Best place around. Loaded Sweet potato brisket is a must. They have great specials throughout the week. On Wednesdays they have a 2 for 1 deal. I cant speak highly enough about this place. CHECK IT OUT.

I spent 15 whole minutes trying to find a way to post this food. Not only did I receive this nasty looking mash bean potatoes instead of the Mac and cheese. I also got the driest thickest nastiest rib I’ve ever had the displeasure of tasting. The corn is hard? Why?!!!!!! The tea was good though. Im out 50$.

I loved the brisket sandwich combo on brioche:) My sides were cheesy mashed potatoes and the fritter (corn bread) both were so good. You could taste the honey in the fritter. I also got to try their dessert menu and their carrot cake was amazing. Staff is courteous and friendly. It’s quickly becoming my new favorite place to eat.

I drove past this place a few times and finally got a chance to stop by. Food is amazing. My family of 4 all enjoyed our food. The ambiance is great. Food amazing. Staff super friendly and helpful. I just moved to the area from Los Angeles California, and I am use to eating at great restaurants. This place stands a chance in my top 10. We will definitely be back.

A must see, especially if you’re new to RGV South Texas area. Uniquely “Texican” based on barbecue meats, pulled pork, brisket, chicken, and comfort-food sides, with bold tangy flavors and large portions. Cozy and comfortable solid wood tables, seating, and decor, including the many historic black & white photos of patrons, friends, family, and locals. A good value for the money — especially the daily specials. Sweet teas, lemonade, soft drinks and bottled beer specials too. A display case full of tempting desserts as well. Friendly service at the counter, and a drive thru for take out. Right alongside the highway, just after the Tesla dealership. Parking in front and on the side. Picnic tables outside for the cooler days and evenings. Catering available.
