We had the most incredible experience at Raja Fine Indian Cuisine in Stratford. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. We ordered the mixed platter, samosas, bharta, chicken tikka masala and paneer jhalfrezi. The owner, Zafar provided exceptional service and made us feel very welcomed. We will definitely be visiting again soon!!

One of the worst food experiences ever
We visited Raja Indian Restaurant in Stratford and it was honestly terrible. We ordered naan, roti and butter chicken, but everything about the place felt extremely unhygienic. The guy serving (from Bangladesh, I believe) was handling food with bare hands, cleaning tables, and then serving with the same hands . Plates were so worn out that the ceramic coating was gone, and to make it worse, there were houseflies everywhere.
The food itself was no better. The butter chicken tasted nothing like butter chicken, it was just stale chicken in plain tomato purée, completely bland and not even warm. Within minutes, we felt like vomiting .
I did check the reviews before going, and most of them are from 2 years ago when maybe the food and service were better. But right now, this place is nowhere near those ratings.
Overall, it was a hectic and disappointing experience. Definitely never coming back .

I have to say first that I didn’t expect so much at this restaurant. I was concerned because of a sign on a door that was locked and directing to another entrance. And I couldn’t have a clear idea about the interior.
But we went for dinner with my son and girlfriend and the first good impression was how clean and nicely decorated the dining area was.
Then, the next good impression was that everyone that was so genuinely friendly!
No wonder, this is a family run restaurant and everybody makes you feel welcomed and valuable.
The food was great. We had appetizers and the teenagers enjoyed mostly the Butter Chicken and I also ordered a goat curry.
There is also an outdoor area, an elevated terrace that must be great for a late dinner outside.
I really recommend this family run restaurant.

This was my first visit to Stratford, and dining at this restaurant truly made it special. The food was incredible—flavorful, unique, and far from your average Indian cuisine. The hospitality was exceptional, making the whole experience even more memorable. I can’t recommend this place enough!

We had dinner on a very busy Saturday night with others heading to the theatre. Food was excellent. Lovely and spicy. All the tables near us also clearly very much enjoyed their food too! Staff went above and beyond to ensure that all was well. Very attentive! We will definitely be back!

We ordered the $130 platter for two from this restaurant. Which listed on the manue 4 meat dishes, rice, naan, desert, and coffee or tea.
We got the first dish, which was a lobster tail. Then the server asked if we wanted our bill. When we asked what about the remaining dishes she said this was all. I asked to see the menu and pointed to the platter and again asked for clarification, there are other items there. She said it was a pick one of the options (which it does not say on the menu). I followed up with questions about how that could be. What if I said I wanted the naan? Would that be $130 two person platter for naan? She got her superior who said the manu is printed wrong and that the two person platter is for one of the 4 meat options and is $60 and nothing else.
A single lobster tail was $60 while there are clearly individual plate options for $20 on the other page. This is absolutely unacceptable. We paid for our overpriced dish and left. I do not recommend anyone waste their money at this establishment. Complete scam

London Town
When the Raja in London Ontario closed, some of us loyal fans that have been loyal customers for years were sad and upset.
However, when we found out the one in Stratford was still open we still make the 50 min drive from London, because we love the food that much. The same quality & taste in Food, amazing customer service and beautiful ambiance is there.
Even though London , Ontario has a plethora of Indian restaurants, the type of Indian Food Raja sells is rare, unique and not commonly found anymore. You have a true hidden gem in Stratford. There’s not many places that sell classics like chicken Jhalfrezi, Beef Dupiaza or true british style Chicken Tikka Masala.
If you haven’t been you’re missing out! They have something for everyone, be sure to check them out.
