I ordered a filet for $$$$ and am 99.9% sure that I got a “center cut” sirloin and that wouldn’t be a problem but the sirloin is 21$ and the filet is 48$.

The shrimp cocktail comes with shrimp in a bowl and a blob of cocktail sauce in the center which means you have to lick/swipe the tails to get sauce for the edible part.

The NY is tender, but thin and might also be boiled in butter? It’s white with very dark and exactly checkered grill marks – in my experience, that means pre cooked or a very old school chef – like the chef might be really good at all of those jello concoctions we’ve all seen online.

The service was top notch! The atmosphere is dungeony, which I like. Someone there really loves the Beatles because we listened to “Beatles Radio” the whole time with some interviews, etc, but I’m down with that.

Overall, it was sad to pay 40+$ for a steak that comes with only one side, and it’s just a blank plate with a steak looking sad and odd, floating around on a juggle plate that needs some potatoes or something.

They should go back to offering a startch and a vegetable vs only a single, small side – or go back to two sides – especially because of the cost. I understand not wanting to force sides on people, but for what we spent, I’d expect to leave satisfied.

I do not recommend the 13$ Irish coffee either. It takes forever to get, doesn’t have enough whiskey to justify the cost, and isn’t an Irish coffee. It comes with a small squirt of canned whipped cream, not “whipped cream”, and the coffee tastes weird. Like microwaved old stuff? Kind of watered down but also *flavorful* but not in a good way. I understand that there are different ways to make these but I guess I’ve been spoiled by the Buena Vista. I expected this one to be the same as BV based on the description on the menu.

We will go back but I’ll just get something made in a fryer, pub style, vs spending $$$$$ on steaks that were cooked well but made with questionable meat.

The Mill Steakhouse is everything you want in a classic McCall dinner spot. The atmosphere has that perfect old-school steakhouse vibe which we loved.

Our server, Jamie, was fantastic. The food came out hot and delicious. Steaks were cooked to perfection, the salmon was divine, and the clam chowder was a hit with the kids. Drinks were cold and all was great after a day in the mountains.

A solid, satisfying meal.

Great atmosphere & tasty drinks. Bartender greeted us w a smile as we walked in, which set the tone for a pleasant visit. We had a cocktail & played a game of pool . I’ll be back! Thank you

My husband and I visited McCall for Valentine’s weekend and made reservations at The Mill for dinner. We arrived early to enjoy the fire and have a drink in the lobby/bar. After we were seated, we were pleased to see they were offering a Valentine Prix Fixe menu. We both chose the filet and added shrimp. We requested our steaks to be cooked medium and they were done to perfection. Megan was our server and very attentive, even though her section was full. The ambiance, service and food were excellent! We will definitely return!

We ordered the Calamari as an appetizer. It tasted like it came from a frozen bag. We asked the waitress if it was fresh and she said, “No. We’re in Idaho”
My husband had the shrimp scampi with home fries and I had the halibut.
When our entrées arrived, the fries were the star of the show. The shrimp was well cooked, but the scampi sauce was bland and watered down. On the halibut plate, it was hard to find the halibut amidst the sea of home fries. Very disappointing. For $150, one beer, one house wine, appetizer and 2 entrées.
We do not recommend, nor will we go back.

Our annual Valentines tradition is going to The Mill for prime rib. The last couple years have been amazing…beautiful large cuts of prime rib cooked perfectly and served with potato, salad, and complementary bread. NOT this year. Not only did the price jump up $8 per plate (which I was expecting), but the cuts were way less quality. My serving was 1/3 fat. That’s about $15 worth of fat based on the price of the meal…which was only a potato and the meat…no salad, no bread…which we didn’t realize until after ordering. I’m giving service 4-star because our waitress did let us know that she was going to throw in the salads for free. We love the Mill and will continue to support a local business, but our days of ordering prime rib are over. Meh.

Just dined there tonight. I was very shocked by some of the previous reviews so I prayed before my food came out
I was pleasantly surprised, the french dip I ordered was very tasty and was fresh. My husband also enjoyed his burger. We did feel the menu was a little overpriced, but I was relieved that the food was good. The server was very helpful and attentive. I’m not sure what’s happening to this place because it was empty besides us on a Sunday evening. I think the bad reviews have scared off some people. Trust me when I say the food was good! I serve only home made and most of the time gourmet food at home, my family is very picky when it comes to food. I hope they pick up their customer base again. The atmosphere was wonderful. The dinner by the fire was a one of a kind experience.

The food that I ordered was great. This is not a fast food restaurant but I feel our food came just in time. The decor is perfect for this area. I will definitely go back.

I had a great time! Crystal was an amazing server and so fun ! My “Mill Burger” was great! The whole crew was polite and attentive. I dined in the Northwest Passage room wich was cool. My Grandfather and other family members worked in the set of that film. I had such a good time. Thank you Crystal and crew !

I had not been here in 10 years. We would always go on work trips. I took my team here last night excited to experience what we once did. We were so disappointed. It must be under new ownership. Like many failing restaurants do, they cheapened the quality. Food was overall bad. Steaks ordered medium rare were well done. My filet resembled a sirloin. The salmon was dry. All this after waiting 40 minutes. This place needs to be shut down. We will never go back unless we hear it has new ownership. Our server was nice as a positive.
