Runza Restaurants Serving real food requires a real commitment. It all begins bright and early each morning. Instead of serving breakfast, we’re making homemade bread dough from scratch. We’re hand-slicing onions. We’re shredding lettuce for our salads. We’re stirring up homemade chili and fresh ground beef filling for Runza® Sandwiches. It’s a labor-intensive process that doesn’t let up until long after closing time. We know there are easier ways to do all this, but our commitment to doing things the right way is as real as our food, and that’s not something we’re going to change.

Stopped here on our way through to stretch our legs and we were glad we did. The staff was super friendly I didn’t catch her name but an older woman was so friendly and nice to us and our 1 year old. Brought our food over and extra napkins. I had a cheese Runza meal with frings and it was solid, great amount of rings and fries and their ranch is just the best. My wife had a cheeseburger meal she was a little disappointed “a Runza burger used to slap once upon a time, now isn’t that time” but she enjoyed her fries. Our baby enjoyed her chicken strips and mandarin oranges. There was a friendly elderly group inside while we were there and were super supportive of our 1 year old walking around and burning off some energy before going back into the car seat. Definitely support this restaurant and town of kind souls.

Everything was fine except the older lady running the register was being unnecessarily rude and condescending toward a younger male employee. He asked a legitimate question about the order, and she told him the answer was common sense in a demeaning tone that made me uncomfortable. No wonder people don’t want to work at these places. I’d rather a worker ask for clarification when preparing my food than just guess and mess it up.

My wife and I always stop at a Runza when we drive across Nebraska to/from relatives in Lincoln. Gothenburg’s Runza is one of our top 3 favorites: Friendly welcome from small-town folks; great food at reasonable prices; cleanliness; and very easy off/on from I-80. Seniors, don’t hesitate to ask for your discount! I always do if needed, but the cashiers often give me the 10% discount without my asking. My favorite menu items are the mushroom-and-swiss runza sandwich and onion rings!

We are on I-80 at least every couple of months and always try to stop at this location. Food is always good, but we choose this spot hoping to see Amber working there. She is always so bright and cheery and is especially wonderful to our kids. What an absolute asset to the restaurant!

Cheap easy fast comfort food. We got the mushroom and swiss ruzan sandwich combo with fries and a mint shake. It reminded me of pasties or a meat pie but with a different crust.

Ended up repeating myself 5 times over the intercom still got the wrong meal when going in in person i asked for a double cheese burger ended up getting a normal cheeseburger cause the cashier fidnt know how to fix the item. And i wasnt gona sit there and fight them after explaining 3 times what i wanted.
