We ate here a few days ago and were so pleased with our experience! We were down visiting the desert from Oregon and found ourselves in Lucerne Valley at lunchtime. Lucky us.
First off all, the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and hospitable. The selection of menu items was impressive. And everything we ordered came quickly and so fresh! Those fried artichokes were MY FAVORITE! (Still thinking about them…) My veggie burger was incredibly delicious while the feral fries were also a hit at the table! And don’t even get me started on those onion rings! We ordered an assortment of sauces to accompany all the things and they were all great, but the burger sauce was everyone’s favorite at the table.
While we ordered vegetarian items, meat eaters will also be pleased to find lots of options and I hear they’re known for their burgers here, so take note.
All in all, our lunch was super tasty and we’re already looking forward to coming back here next time we’re in this part of the desert!

Tried out yesterday: Sunday 7/27. We fully expected to wait a long time because the car ahead of us took like 5 minutes to order. We ordered and drove forward and the car ahead got their order right away. Then we got ours right away. And they gave our dog a bone too. We paid $20.20 for 2 large Dr Peppers, a cheeseburger and regular fry. My husband loved the burger! The pickles were big and the patty was like a “smash burger” style. Now, normally I hate crinkle fries. But these fries were perfectly crunchy on the outside and fresh on the inside. Overall: Very Good! Quick service, value on point and quality perfect.

Was our 1st time stopping here… ordered burgers and fries/onion rings! Delicious btw.. I asked for extra extra pickles for my pregnant daughter… and that’s what she got.. but i thought it was very sweet/ thoughtfull what they wrote on her burger wrapper!

This place is AMAZING! We pass it on our way up to Big Bear and the food is just phenomenal. We order inside and are able to use one of the outdoor picnic tables to have lunch and let our dog out of the car. There’s also a drive thru if you’ve gotta eat on the go. Atmosphere is fun and casual and the staff is so friendly.
Bacon jam on the Pub Burger is 10/10 and everyone loves a crispy yet fluffy French fry and this place NAILED IT!

This place is BOMB, we go to big bear a few times an and alway see this place opened and closed by other owners, we decided to stop in today as this is the first time it actually looked pretty nice. I was surprised by how good the burgers and fries and onion rings are, their ranch is also great. Everything we had was really good, and I hope this place gets some more attention and can stay open this time, the food taste great!! We will for sure be stopping in when passing by from now on. I only posted the fries as it was the first thing we took a picture of before digging in so we forgot to take pictures of the rest while enjoying it. Staff was also extremely nice!

This place is THEE best little burger spot! The owners are super sweet and did an amazing job and revamping the place while still keeping its original charm. Their menu is small (curated), but there are plenty of options for meat eaters, vegetarians, and even a gluten free bun option! Will definitely be making this a tradition while on our way up to mountains.

Visited for my 2nd time yesterday and I love it! First time, I got the BBLT and some specialty fries that were the absolute business. 2nd visit, I got the Annie Okie by itself and whooooohoo was it good!
The people that work here are lovely and were very hospitable on each visit… Also, it seems that they have a lot of “kid friendly” menu items! I highly recommend checking this restaurant out and giving them a try.

I bought my property in 2019, I have been to Burger Depot and I loved that local spot and that sweet couple. I was hoping someone would restore this cool spot and open it back up…and I’m so excited they did! I finally passed by when they were opened. I got the feral fries and a cheeseburger…delicious! Great taste and quality! Great service…very friendly and I love the werthers candy in the bag! Old school vibe…nostalgia…I will be back!!

I have been coming to this location since it was Burger Depot back when the original owners built and developed it for decades back then it was just a little Burger stop with a train depot theme inside. Once the original owners retired and sold the business some pretty terrible people bought it and almost ran the place into the ground indefinitely. The new owners at the lunch box seem like well deserving heirs to this locally historical place they have refurbished the entire building and parking lot, they have modernized the menu and Lucerne Valley has greatly benefited from the lunch box. My only gripe was that while things are very high quality and the food is delicious I still felt that it was a bit too expensive for how much food you get that being said this is no way should deter you from going here just be prepared to spend 15 to $25 per person if you want a meal style experience and fresh food that doesn’t make you feel bad after eating it. Specialty sauces are 75c each but that wasnt really a big deal to me just putting it out there.

Wow, it’s so nice to have a great place in Lucerne Valley to visit and have a great meal. The owners are super friendly but more importantly the food is amazing. I can’t wait to go back and try all of their menu options. I had a simple turkey sandwich with the fried artichokes but it surpassed my expectations and was a delight to my taste buds. You will not be disappointed with your stop here. Thank you for a great dining experience. I’ll be a regular each week for sure.
