Recently visited this restaurant. Been waiting for it to open. It was worth the wait. They have lunch specials of some of their more popular meals. There is an extensive menu of their regional cuisine, prepared by an authentic Szechwan chef. All of the wait staff I talked to were from there. They were very helpful in describing the menu items that were new to me and graciously added additional “heat” to item I choose. They are able to adjust the spiciness to your palate. The portion was large and very tasty. I will be returning to try some of their traditional menu items. Very attentive staff. Local family owned. Please support them.

Szechuan Bistro did not disappoint! Favorites of tonight were: milk bubble tea, chicken lo mein, beef noodle stew, sautéed green beans, and the peony chicken. #1 choice was hands down the lo mein and green beans (lightly spicy)! The flavors were fantastic and the portions generous. The staff was very kind and attentive. We will definitely be back!

The Szechwan Bistro in Papillion is easily the most authentic (and best) Chinese/Szechwan food I’ve had around here. The flavors are bold, vibrant, and unmistakably legit. The spicy fish was perfectly cooked and packed full of so many flavors. The spicy pepper chicken was also fantastic, crispy, savory, and loaded with flavor. Honestly, everything on the menu looks incredible and we’re already excited to come back and try more. Great ambience, family-friendly, and kind service. I hope this place sticks around, Omaha needs it.

The food was really delicious. I was craving for spicy fish, and this definitely hit the spot. The service and the decorations were also very lovely. I can’t wait to come back to try more dishes.

Szechwan Bistro nails traditional Chinese cuisine with a warm, relaxed vibe and friendly service. The flavors stay true to the classics, but with spot-on technique and balanced sauces. Signature dishes are standout—think rich broth, tender proteins, and crisp veggies. Portions are generous and reasonably priced, so it’s easy to try a few things. All in all, a genuine hidden gem I’d totally revisit if I’m in the area.

This was our first time at Szechwan Bistro – we happened to dine there on Chinese New Year. We did not have to wait to be seated. Service was friendly and prompt.
We ordered hot & sour/spicy shredded potato, braised beef noodle soup, pork and eggplant, and the dumpling appetizer (asked for it not spicy) for our daughter. Everything was phenomenal! The dumplings were cooked perfectly; the soup and potatoes were both deliciously spiced, not too crazy. The pork and eggplant was my favorite; the eggplant was not overcooked as I’ve had at some places.
One of the staff came around to all the tables offering prizes because of the New Year celebration, and we ended up getting a free dessert. It was chocolate tiramisu and it was delicious, as well. Our bill was very reasonable and we were so pleased with everything. We will return again and again, and cannot wait to try their other dishes!
This restaurant serves authentic Chinese Szechuan cuisine. That is what I recommend going for. If you’re going expecting to get beef with broccoli or sweet and sour chicken, I don’t know yet what you could expect, but we have been looking for a place like this ever since Lan House in downtown Lincoln closed. We are so excited this place opened up!
Edited to add: We returned a week later and ordered Boiled Spicy Fish, dan dan noodles, and the peony chicken, which was recommended by our waiter, and it was all FIRE.
