Quite disappointed given the large number of reviews. Got cappuccinos and blueberry muffin. Cappuccino was mediocre at best. Just a thick foam of milk on top. Not what I expect from a cafe at all, and I explore a lot of local coffee shops. Muffin was dry and not at all fresh. Honestly inedible and had to throw it in the trash.

The place was okay overall, but there were some major downsides. The tables were dirty, and although the staff was very friendly, the food was disappointing—it seemed like it had been in the fridge for too long, making it taste old and hard. The matcha had no real flavor, and the only non-dairy milk options were soy and oat. The coffee wasn’t bad, but the presentation of everything could use improvement. On a positive note, the bathroom was clean.

Super cute stop in the heart of downtown of Scranton, Pennsylvania. I wanted to find a great cup and there was a really good vibe there. I got a maple latte which was on the sweet side, but totally delicious. If you have a moment and want a nice cup of coffee or relax environment it’s a nice stop.

I didn’t get any food here, just an americano.
Coffee was OK. I was looking for a strong, bold, dark blend, and although my coffee was acceptable, it wasn’t quite dark, bold and thick as I am used to.
Atmosphere, however was awesome! Nice comfortable place with a great vibe. I had an extended business meeting here, and it was the perfect place for that.
Located in the Scranton Life building.

What a fabulous coffee place! They have plenty of seating and a very aesthetic decor, even an upper level to sit at! Art for sale too. The coffee was tasty and they have flavored syrups to add. The muffin was super doughy but it was good. ☕️

Was excited to check out this coffee shop after seeing it featured on a prominent NEPA website, sadly I was disappointed. It wasn’t any one thing but a series of little things that left me with a sour taste.

It started with my request for a chia latte, to which I was asked, which flavor and directed to a row of powdered concentrates with various profiles. Do I expect this type of corner cutting at a big-name publicly traded coffee shop, sure, which is why I seek out indie shops, with the hope they won’t be using subpar products to cut corners. Ok, I’ll go with a standard cappuccino and a latte for the husband.

Disappointment number two: milk frothing and steaming… more corner cutting. I have zero issue with you steaming/frothing the milk for two drink together as long as you remember the key difference between the two drinks- lattes have a higher ratio of steamed milk to espresso with a thin layer of foam creating a more creamy drink, cappuccinos are more milk foam this leaving you a stronger espresso taste and you adjust frothing/steaming accordingly to accommodate the two different drinks. What we were served was one “latte” with no foam layer and one “cappuccino“ that was actually a latte. They steamed the milk together, strained out steamed milk into the “latte” and dumped the remainder of the steamed milk into my cappuccino and then spooned the minimal amount of remaining foam on top of the cappuccino. Gah!!!! These are basic, foundational coffeehouse drinks and when I order a cappuccino it’s because I want foam not milk-espresso, I save that for my latte drinking husband.

Every time we visit Scranton we stop in here for a nice coffee. It has nice indoor seating including a cozy area upstairs with comfortable chairs and mood lighting. The coffee and baked goods are great. It’s right next to the historic square and there is cheap one dollar parking up the street next to Abe’s delicatessen (which I also highly recommend).

Coffee with croissant is what I am living for but unfortunately the croissant was really disappointing. Sorry to say but it literally felt like a bun. Although coffee was good and the best thing was the ambiance, which is no doubt was really cozy and comfortable.

Very nice cafe with plenty of seating and options (the commute is gluten free). The French toast latte was great too!

If you were to ask me where the best place to grab a cup of coffee has been out of all the places I’ve had the pleasure of trying, I would without a doubt hands down recommend Northern Light Espresso Bar in Scranton!

I’ve been dreaming of their coffee since I first visited and now make it a point to stop by any chance I get up to the Scranton area!

Without fail, they have made me the richest, creamiest, chocolatiest iced mocha latte that I have ever had in my life each time I have dropped by.

In addition to their incredible coffee, Northern Light also offers tea, baked goods and more! You have got to try this place out for yourself! Absolutely worth the drive up here for the coffee alone. ☕️
