What an AMAZING first-time experience at Cinco de Mayo Mexican Restaurant! From the moment we sat down, Silvia made us feel like VIPs—so attentive, cheerful, and on top of everything. She even refilled our chips three times and kept our table feeling cared for the whole night.
The salsas were a fiesta by themselves—different varieties, all fresh, full of flavor, and not the watered-down kind you sometimes get elsewhere. The food? It went beyond what we imagined! We ordered the mixed vegetables plate and the Fajita Nachos Supreme Texan—and both were cooked just right. Not greasy, not heavy… just flavorful, balanced, and delicious.
Honestly, it felt like the kind of place where the energy, the flavors, and the service all come together to make you smile. The vibe is warm and welcoming, the quality is superb, and you can tell they really care about giving customers a great experience.
If you’re looking for a spot that’s full of flavor, friendly service, and that “let’s celebrate life” feeling, I highly recommend Cinco de Mayo.

Omg! I’m from Chicago with probably,the best Mexican steak tacos ever. We were driving around the Nashville area looking for some place to eat and just happened to find Cinco De Mayo on West End street near Vanderbilt college. ITS THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD EVER! It reminded me of home. The wait service was fantastic. She was sweet and kind. The atmosphere was beautiful and clean. Every time I come to Nashville for the rest of my life,I will be going to Cinco De Mayo on West End near Vanderbilt.

Hungry while in the area, we recognized this chain’s name from a lunch we had at the Hendersonville location earlier on our trip. That was a good and reasonably priced meal for us, so decided it was worth another visit at this particular location. Our lunch special – I believe it was 1 taco, 1 enchilada, 1 burrito with rice and beans – tasted fresh and yummy, and it was as reasonably priced as before. Service was quick and friendly. I would be returning often if I lived near one of those locations.

This was a fun dinner destination while in Nashville. The food was simple but comforting and well made.
The meat fajitas were cooked to perfection, and it was a huge plate of meat with a very little vegetables .
The queso fundito looked in at first, but thicken up nicely while cooling, and it came with flour tortillas, which was a nice surprise.
The enchilada plate was just that. Four enchiladas in a row and they were all hot and delicious.
I would definitely visit this place again !

The Cinco De Mayo Mexican restaurant is located on West End Avenue in Nashville, close to Vanderbilt University. The food was great and the service was really fast. The lunch Fajitas were really good, and they were happy to accommodate my substitution request. There is metered street parking at the front and free parking in the rear. There is not an entrance at the back, so you have to walk around.

Coming from Texas, my expectations were too high. The chips and salsa were good but the main dishes were just OK, lacking typical Tex-Mex seasoning. The wait staff were friendly and it was reasonably priced.

It’s kind of difficult to tell their food – one time it came out amazing but the other time it came out mediocre. The staff are really great!
