Ordered sushi take out for my lunch today, my first visit to Osaka. I got the spicy crab roll and a salmon/avocado roll. They are DELICIOUS!! Generous filling to rice ratio which makes me so, so happy. Fresh and yummy. The hostess was very friendly as well as a server who chatted with me a bit while I waited for my order. My wait was not long at all. Love it and I will definitely be a regular here. Thank you, Osaka, for making me feel welcome and preparing great sushi!

Extremely disappointed. Spouse ordered Hibachi Shrimp & Scallops. I ordered Hibachi Steak & Shrimp. The vegetables were good. Mostly mushrooms and onions (we did request, no zucchini). I don’t believe there was any broccoli. The carrots amounted to about a spoon full. They were quite good, but not enough. The shrimp on both plates was very good, but the scallops were mushy, and inedible. The steak was fatty, and grisly. Both meals were only 1/2 eaten. The server was attentive and a kind young lady. The atmosphere is depressing. The air flow ducts on the ceiling are held up with black electrical tape. Appears the place needs A LOT of TLC.

The food was good, but we both ordered the triple, which is supposed to include steak, shrimp, and chicken. About halfway through the meal, we realized there was no shrimp on either plate. When we brought it to their attention, we were told they “saw the shrimp.” There were absolutely no shrimp, and I do not appreciate being treated like a liar. I understand some people may try to get free food, but that was not the case here. We will not be returning. If you go, be aware–two staff members insisted they saw six shrimp on each of the plates when there were none, essentially calling us liars. So who was lying…
3 stars is because the waiter was kind. The owner or manager (a woman) WAS NOT KIND.
Minus the waiter, I would give it a 1 star. I left him a 25% despite the way we were treated.

Today I visited Osaka Japanese Grill in Maryville (Near Maryville Walmart on Hwy 411 S).
The hostess greeted me immediately and I was seated in an extremely clean and neat dining room.
My server arrived with a menu and took my drink order. A large hot cup of green tea and a glass of ice water came quickly.
He explained some menu items and took my order.
My Shrimp & Scallops with many perfectly prepared vegetables and fried rice came quickly. Large quantities of each item.
Oishī (delicious) from beginning to end.
I have enough for lunch tomorrow, also.
Joy (one of the owners) came by my table to welcome me. A very nice lady. Arigato
Mike, my server, was excellent and helpful.
I will be returning to Osaka for sure.
NOTE: They also offer Military or Seniors discounts.

I ordered the California roll sushi and the teriyaki chicken with rice and vegetables. Food was really good and potions are very generous.
I give the service five stars! I never do seem to catch the waiter’s name, but he is AWESOME! Great service every time!
Facility is always clean as well.
Definitely recommend this place!

I’m a regular at this place, and the volcano roll with their spicy mayo is absolutely amazing—I order it every time. Lately, I’ve seen a group of people clearly trying to attack this restaurant with fake reviews. Most of them don’t even post photos, which makes me doubt they ever visited. One person even said the spicy sauce was disgusting—do you not realize that this is the standard sauce used in Japanese restaurants all across the U.S.? Clearly, you don’t know much about Japanese cuisine. And when several people post bad reviews all at once in a single day, it’s pretty obvious what’s going on. I couldn’t stay silent—I had to speak up for this place.

We’ve been coming here for many years. The portions are very generous and the price is cheaper than other hibachi places around here. Today they forgot our sushi roll, they texted and called to tell me. Thankfully we weren’t far away at all so we came right back to get it. They gave us a 10 dollar gift card as an apology! Now that’s way above and beyond. We love supporting small local business and will continue to eat here as long as they stay around

Food was okay. Fried rice was bland with no egg in it and very dry. Broccoli was under cooked. They don’t cook stake to order, as they didn’t bother to ask. No soup or salad comes with the hibachi meal, nor do they even carry any.
In Indiana at Taku in Kokomo, you would get a hibachi experience, with bigger portions, cooked to order steak, more vegetables, a soup and a salad, with eggs cooked into the fried rice for less than $17.
This place in comparison is a rip off, generic, and hardly carries anything I want. They don’t even have Crab Rangoon or Edamame.
Disappointed. Don’t recommend.
