If you’re looking for authentic flavor, fresh seafood, and real Mexican vibes, Tacos Acámbaro is a MUST-try.

I stopped in and was blown away by the quality of the food. The seafood platter was on point — super fresh, full of flavor, and served with generous portions. The camarones in salsa roja had that perfect kick, and every ceviche on the plate tasted clean and homemade.

I also tried the carne asada tacos, and they hit the spot — juicy, well-seasoned meat with grilled onions and chiles that took it to another level.

The service was friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed, and you can tell this place puts love into their food. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing something quick, this spot is definitely worth checking out.

Highly recommend — I’ll be coming back for sure!

I’ve been supporting Tacos Acambaro since they were in a food truck on the East side. And after many years of going, spending $60-$150 dollars per visit multiple times a month I will no longer be going if they still have working the waitress with Carrot looking hair. We walked in with a drink we had just purchased at the gas station and she said we couldn’t bring it in very rude. We decided to take our business elsewhere. We ended up at RedLobster where they allowed us to walk in with our drink and we were very happy to spend over $200 there. Never again will I go as long as she is there working. Re-train her or fire her.

My family and I came here because this place is supposedly one of the most popular Mexican restaurants in town, but the service was awful. Right from the start, the lady at the front with burnt orange hair was extremely rude. She had no sense of humor, no personality, no warmth nothing. First impressions matter, and hers was terrible.

One of the servers didn’t speak English and completely got our order wrong. We weren’t given napkins, utensils, ketchup basic things you shouldn’t have to ask for. We asked for lemon and it took about 20 minutes to get it. No urgency, no apology, no customer service.

Overall, the service here sucks, and they really need to replace the woman at the front because she sets the tone and it’s a bad one!!

The experience here was horrible. I’ve been here so many times before and you could tell the service decline. The servers’ quality aren’t the best. They do what they can, but you can tell they’re struggling. Our food took over 45 minutes to get to us. My two little kids were so hungry, I had to take my infant into the bathroom to breastfeed her. After 40 minutes, we asked the servers if it would take longer to get our food. Five minutes later, they slowly began to bring out our food. My partner began trying to talk to the server and ask why it took so long. She said there was a lot of people and my partner pointed to the restaurant and said that there wasn’t any people there. Then she said she didn’t work in the back so she didn’t know. When we were gonna pay, we asked to speak to the manager and it turned out the owner came. We were relieved to know that the owner would talk to us. My partner let him know of our experience and how we’ve never had a to wait that long at other taquerias. The owner cut off my partner and said that it was a restaurant not a taqueria. Odd thing to correct hence maybe don’t name your restaurant TACOS ACAMBAROS. My partner corrected himself and then the owner began cutting my partner off more and said that the food was good and is made from scratch and they have online and a lot of people. We let him know we understand that but it felt like we were forgotten. No one checked on us or anything despite my infant screaming impatiently. The owner THEN BEGAN RAISING HIS VOICE at my partner. I was so shocked and confused. My kids were there. I cannot believe that we experienced this. I used to like this restaurant before I moved to San Jose with my family. I’d heard of rumors of this place and the owner but I never let my judgment dictate my decisions to eat there. I am so upset. My two kids were there. He said he wasn’t going to give a discount over us threatening to post a review. That wasn’t the point. This isn’t the point. The way he handled the situation was horrible. He then walked away from us so hostile. I tried asking for his name and he was so rude. I am shocked. I don’t normally post negative reviews but I’m so ashamed this happened. I don’t believe that we should have been treated this way.

I’m giving this place 2 stars only because the food was decent. I went with my parents and two kids, and unfortunately the service was very poor. Our waitress only came by once, we had to ask for everything else we needed, and no one came to clear dirty plates or bring us the check. Instead, we had to pay at the entrance, where they automatically add an 18% gratuity for parties of five or more. The issue is that by the time you get to the front, you’ve likely already left a tip at the table, so you end up tipping twice without realizing it. It feels misleading and left a really bad impression.

My dad even said, “I never want to come back to this place.” Honestly, I was warned and should’ve listened, the reviews were right. The waitresses really need training in customer service. It’s not hard to welcome a customer, greet with a smile, and simply bring the bill to the table.

We used to go every weekend, food was really good we stop going , but know I don’t think I will be going back anytime soon. Services was bad I told one of the waitress that the tacos were to hard to eat especially for the kids , she rolled her eyes and told us if we wanted tortillas to replace the ones that were hard. Who does that instead of taking the plate and replacing the hole taco. Really disappointed. I usually don’t complain because I understand really well others people make mistakes we are not perfect ,I’m not perfect but I think that was really rude of rolling her eyes and getting upset because I complained.

They took a long time to notice us and bring the menu, saw some help wanted signs probably they were short staffed. Ordered horchata they didn’t have it, so I asked for a sangria unfortunately it was warm. The shrimp tostada was really good. The birria taco’s didn’t like them so much they were very very grease. My daughter did like her Veggie burrito ( she asked without meat ). I’ll go again only to taste more sea food I guess, because to be honest the shrimp tostada was really good. Also that is surrounded by screen TVs.

Horrible service all the girls there are lazy , rude an have attitudes. The girls all seem miserable management really needs to hire all new people an train them on customer service.Also the restrooms are disgusting just horrible.
