This was our first trip to this quaint town and what a gem this restaurant turned out to be. We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff and the cozy atmosphere at the bar. The food was good as were the prices. We really enjoyed this place and will go back if ever in this area again.

This is the only place I buy my ranch salad dressing! Their bleu cheese is homemade and also amazing! I love to eat on the patio in the summer. They have one of the prettiest outdoor eating areas around.

We were in Montoursville to do some shopping for a home project. We got hungry and decided to find something “downtown.” This was a great find!! The atmosphere around the bar felt really comfortable and cool. There was a group of people doing a pub crawl for St. Patrick’s day that added some levity. It was fun!

The food was good; better than expected. I had a cheesesteak sub. My wife had a salad and soup. They were also very good.

We will most definitely come back next chance we get!

My family went for Easter dinner. Service was very friendly & helpful. All the entree selections were all very tasty. Had a very fine time.
Two years later: We celebrated my mother’s 92nd birthday on the patio. Very nice for outside dining. Lots of delicious options to choose from. Service is still very friendly & helpful.

Well…..the wait staff lack genuine enthusiasm. They “smile” if pulling one’s lips off of their teeth counts as a smile.

It was after noon and my son and I entered from the parking lot and sat in the front room.

I ordered the “Beef on Wak(?)” sandwich with onion rings. My son ordered mac & cheese and meatloaf entree with a side salad.

My sandwich read on the menu as a complicated sliced ribeye meat on a German roll with horseradish sauce and au jus.

My sandwich was gristle and fat and could be compared to whatever fell onto the cutting floor at Cargill. It was tough and mediocre. The German sandwich roll turned out to be a potato hamburger roll and the $14 item was the size of my palm.

My son’s “meatloaf” was lukewarm and the mac & cheese was Stouffer’s quality.

Honestly….in this current economic climate, I could have spent $39 at the grocer’s and made a meal worth talking about.

I will not return to this establishment. Obscenely expensive for mediocre food.

1st time here, it was very nice. The food and service were excellent. Made reservations to return for my graduation dinner with family in a few months. We had the steakhouse chips and garlic mussels as an appetizer, and the Antipasto salad(special for the week, is how an antipasto salad should be), and the coffee rubbed pork chop. And creme brulee for dessert.

Second time eating at Johnson’s Cafe, the waitress was very nice & did a well job! Ordered the bbq chicken nachos & I believe the bistro salad..very good! 🙂 I liked the fries in the salad!

This is one of our favorite places to visit so took family members to celebrate a birthday. Service was good, lights kept flickering above us but the food was just disappointing. The Chesapeake seafood bake was delicious but a very small portion for the price. The green beans were chewy and just inedible. The beef and gnocchi was like a soup with very tough beef and served with a big stalk of what I think was a leek. What do you do with that. The sausage and polenta was just terrible. The polenta was not creamy and cheesy, it was sour from too much citrus and it was served cold. The pieces of sausage were like dog food. Also the broiled haddock was very small s well. We spent a lot of money and was so disappointed.

Have been to Johnson’s a few times over the last years and never did a review! Always great food and service. Today had Denise.. what a fantastic Waitress she is! I felt welcomed and very cared for as we head back to Florida. Definitely a favorite place to stop when we’re North.

Server Gabi R. served me a burger with so much sodium and/or dye in it that my heart became more boyant than the pool I was it. Immediately had to get out so I could live. Also forced me to tip well and claims she’s going to call the police on me if I don’t work there with her.
