WORTHLESS.
This place sells burgers that are child sized for $10. LOOK AT THE PICS. THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE!! PROVE ME WRONG!! . When they opened in summmer 2025, they served nice big 1/3LB juicy burgers on full sized buns, and there are even some photos on google reviews of them! As of winter 2025/2026+ THIS IS WHAT YOU GET FOR $10+. LOOK AT MY PICS AND COMPARE YOUR ORDER!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!

Stopped by A Burger in Crestline. The menu is very simple and straightforward. I tried the A Burger and it was cooked fine with decent flavor. It felt like a homemade burger with Thousand Island, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. The chili cheese fries were okay but the chili tasted more canned than fresh. Overall it was not a bad experience but nothing that stood out for me, so I probably would not go back.

Really wanted to like this but unfortunately burgers were not edible due to being burnt. Onion rings overcooked but the chili cheese fries were solid for the price. It’s grand opening so I hope it’s growing pains. Quality of ingredients was good. I’ll try again in a month and adjust score if quality improves.

Opening Day! The service came with a smile and I ordered an “A burger and rootbeer shake” for old time’s sake. By the window there is a memorial plaque for Liz, the long time owner. There was no line yet and my order was ready in under 5 minutes. The burger was juicy and flavorful and it tasted like the original “A burger” to me. The root beer shake flavor was subtle, not the exact same as the original but I could tell the ingredients were higher quality and there was even a bit of whipped cream which really elevated the look and I enjoyed it. There is no seating but there was ample parking, approximately 7 spots. They let me take photos of the bathroom which is not currently for public use but it was clean and I will update as things change. The menu was simple as it always was and I’ll work my way thru trying each. The menu also had a QR code so I asked about phone and online ordering and it’s in the works but not available yet. Was pleased with the flavor and value and would recommend.

We were super excited to have a place that has a vegan burger on the mountain, but we were quickly underwhelmed by the price and lack of charisma this place no longer has. Although we are super grateful for a vegan burger, the reality is a frozen vegan patty costs us less than $1.50 and the rest of the ingredients a buck so the $11.00 price tag is just ridiculous. Upcharging people $3.00 more for a vegan burger seems predatory (and it is). Beyond that, none of the employees have charisma or great social skills, so if you are expecting the great charismatic service you used to get from Liz, you won’t find it here. All and all, a decent place, but way too expensive for what it is.

After 6 visits I feel I can give an accurate review: Overall, it’s good. They have things to work on, but we needed a place like this locally.
The classic A burger is an In-N-Out style burger, the usual veggies with pickles and a thousand island sauce. It’s balanced and a very solid burger, but on the pricey side at $8.00+. However, factoring in not having to drive down the hill, it’s not a bad alternative.
Western Burger is also good if you want something different, has onion rings on the burger which works well.
The double A burger felt like too much with the two patties, but that’s subjective.
Things to avoid: The lemonade, the chicken sandwich, and sadly the shakes. Lemonade is not freshly made, its some kind of strange concentrate. The Chicken sandwich was overcooked, and mostly breading/crust. The Chocolate shake was like blended ice cubes, and a scoop of mid tasting ice cream? Not the move.
Atmosphere: No seating, and parking isn’t the best.
Staff seems friendly enough.

The chicken burger ($10) and western burger ($10) are both fine flavor wise, but the portion size is lacking. The fries ($3) are good but, again, could be a larger portion. I’m fairly confident the root beer shake ($3.95, 16 oz.) is just a vanilla shake with an arbitrary amount of root beer syrup mixed in and it shows. These prices are from September of 2025.
As it stands, A Burger seems like it will survive, but won’t thrive. If they decrease their prices I could see it becoming more popular, but I suspect that given a month they will increase their prices by 20% or so and it will just become another Blue Jay Burgers..

Delicious! The first time I went, it was opening day and the patty was a bit burnt. But I’ve been two more times since then and I think they really perfected it! I would say it’s along the lines of In N Out and Shake Shack. A really solid and great burger. I got the double burger and the patties were cooked and seasoned perfectly the last two times I went. Buns tasted nice and fresh and all the toppings tasted very fresh too. One of my favorite burgers now.
