Best Gyro I have had in STL. All the ingredients are fresh and delicious. My coworker introduced me and I literally had to bring my girlfriend the next day. The Gyro deluxe is a must have.

I went in for lunch and was met with a super friendly worker. I wish I would have asked him what his name was, but since I’d never had anything like this before, I had questions that he was more than happy to answer. I ordered to go, and it took all of 5 minutes for them to finish making my gyro. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of filling that came with it too! I’ll definitely be recommending this place to others!

I ordered a regular ol’ Gyro with a water and after tax it was $16. I couldn’t even eat the whole thing in one go so I’ll definitely be saying it’s worth every penny

Moving reviews over from Yelp. Haven’t been back since the disaster of a visit this review describes. There are simply better choices in the Lou. Originally published/revised in 2017:

Revision:
My previous review was a 3-star rating. For some reason, the owner (maybe manager, dishwasher or who know what – certainly not chief proofreader) decided to attack me through the compliment system so I’m dropping them to 1-star. Check out the screen capture of consecutive pearls sent to me for proof.

To be clear, I asked the guy who made my food whose products they were serving and he told me.

Initial review:
I was really looking forward to trying this place but didn’t love their gyros. I appreciated the fact that they griddled their pita but I found several issues with the sandwich overall:

1. Their interpretation of tzatziki was a bit on the bland side and appeared devoid of cucumber…a signature component of a good tzatziki. Also, they went a bit light on the sauce.

2. The meat was carved from a spit (big plus!) but was one of the off-brands that come out of the Chicago restaurant supply houses. I know this because I asked the guy who made my food. If you’re charging eight bucks for a gyros it should damn well be Kronos or Olympia supplying your cones. Also, the slices of meat would have benefitted from having spent a little more time on the cone or run over the flat top to give them the sear that really brings out the flavors.

3. Red onions instead of white seemed a little out of place.

Service was good.

Folks, there really are some good places to get gyros in the STL but unfortunately this doesn’t turn out to be among the best.

We went there today, April 6th, for the first time. It’s a small but nice place to dine in. I dont know how busy their lunch rush is, but we went around 1:30 and there was no one there. My wife got the deluxe gyro and said it was yummy. I got the gyro with grilled onions and peppers. Yummy also! Portions were huge and they were not stingy with the meat. I’m not a walnut fan but we ordered a baklava and it was very good. Tasted homemade. All in all I thought it was worth our money and you could tell it was a family run business. I will definitely be taking my family back for some more of the authentic Greek cuisine!

For someone that doesn’t like gyros I was thoroughly impressed. Clean, friendly service, delicious food, great price.

Things to beware of:
Probably don’t wanna bring more than 4 people at a time, seems like most people come for takeout. We ate inside tho and it was still plenty comfortable.

No fountain drinks/refills. Just bottles of tea and canned soda.

I don’t consider either a con, just thought you might like to know

This is a nice little family owned Gyro shop. Close to the Buick dealer and Tesla service. Very tasty gyro! The baklava too.

This is a Turkish owned and operated restaurant that has some of the best Mediterranean offerings in the area. The food was great and the service was friendly. I plan to comeback again soon. Get the deluxe gyro!

Excellent food and service! It doesn’t look like much from the outside. Inside, SoCo’s is nicely decorated with a Mediterranean mural. It’s small with maybe a dozen tables, but pleasant. I had a Greek Gyro Salad, which was high quality and very fresh. All of it was delicious. The baklava is house made and was outstanding! Can’t wait to come back!
