The owner, Shawn, is also one of the nicest guys you could know. 5 stars!
Don’t pass on the sides, which are also great. Best pork and beans in the area. There’s actually pork in the beans as the name suggests, and God intended.
The BBQ sauces are spectacular and unique to the area. The mild and spicy have an apple cider flavor, and the white sauce is out of this world.
The staff is very friendly and quick to help you get what you want the way you want it. Definitely good with the kids too.
Our table shared both a two meat platter with beef brisket, ribs, baked beans and Mac n cheese and a three meat platter with brisket, pulled pork, wings, baked beans and cornbread. The beef brisket, very flavorful, moist and tender, just the right amount of smokiness and a very generous serving. Ribs (4 bones) were very meaty, moist and perfectly done with the meat pulling off the bone but not falling all apart.
Pulled pork, same scenario, big portion, very tasty, moist and tender. Wings were not the biggest but there were 6 pieces, smoked nicely, moist and very good! The baked beans too are tasty with a hint of heat. Mac n cheese is a baked style, very cheesy and tasty. Cornbread is nicely done, not dry and comes with butter and honey on the side. The prices may seem a little high at first glance but the portions of everything on the platters were quite large.
In fact if you added a couple of sides to a three meat platter you could probably feed a family of two adults, two kids easily!
They should offer half platters or snack sized sampler plates.
All in All we were very pleased and very full.
Everything is made in house and was really good including their sauces. Can’t wait To come back and try a sandwich or perhaps nacho’s next time !
I ordered the wings which were great! A side of the pigtail pasta, which had no flavor at all. My husband had the brisket melt, the brisket sadly had no smoky flavor and it was really fatty. He had the hillbilly beans which had pork and although the flavor was good the texture of the stringy pork bothered him. The best side of all was the coleslaw! If your going here definitely get the wings with the bbq ranch and a large coleslaw. That would be the most flavorful meal. I was really disappointed that the kid’s menu was pretty much nonexistent. Thursday being family day and kids eat free, I was assuming there would be an actual kid’s menu. There wasn’t a menu just the cashier naming Mac n cheese or a grilled cheese sandwich. No chicken nuggets and French fries ? That’s the all time favorite kid’s menu. So that was really disappointing. Overall, not sure if we would be back.
