⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Best Kept Secret in McDonough, GA

El VieJon Mexican Grill & Cantina is hands down one of McDonough’s best-kept secrets. It’s the only Mexican restaurant in McDonough serving a full breakfast every single day, and they absolutely get it right.

The pancake sandwich is next level — fluffy, flavorful, and unlike anything else in town. Their omelets are easily the best in McDonough, made fresh, loaded with ingredients, and cooked perfectly every time.

But breakfast is just the beginning. Their Mexican food is just as impressive. The tacos are authentic and packed with flavor, the fajitas come out sizzling and fresh, and the burritos, enchiladas, and quesadillas are generously portioned and perfectly seasoned. Everything tastes homemade, not rushed, and you can tell real care goes into each plate.

The atmosphere is welcoming, the service is friendly, and the food is consistently excellent. Whether you’re craving breakfast, lunch, or dinner, El VieJon delivers quality, flavor, and value every time.

If you haven’t eaten here yet, you’re missing out. This spot deserves way more attention — a true hidden gem in McDonough.

Great experience! Danny, the owner, and his wife were absolutely amazing, friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The service was excellent and the food was even better. I had the mild wings, and I also ordered the torta sandwich to go, which was packed with steak and chorizo and full of flavor. If you’re in the area, this place is a must-try, it’s definitely worth it. The prices are super reasonable, the drinks are delicious, and it’s officially my new go-to spot. Thanks for such an incredible first experience!

This place, while a bit small, makes for a nice stop without all the hassle of larger chain restaurants. The food is fantastic and is well worth the price offered! Highly recommend to give it a try!

Really wanted to like it but when they send RAW food you just lose all your appetite. Called and they said they were aware it was raw and is made fresh… I get that but agauchile and ceviche are suppose to cook in lime juice for ATLEAST 30mins to 1hr.. please look at yalls shrimp before yall eat it! Ceviche and aguachile “cook” in lime juice … they need to get a white/pink color not fully gray.

To the restaurant . A tip. If you use shrimp for both dishes , prep shrimp in lime juice every morning or every other morning, cut in butterfly and when needed for ceviche ,chop it up. (Keep in cooler in a sealed container) discard after 3 days , only make enough for 2/3 days
I hope you all take my advice and although I’m hesistant to order again I will and hope to up my review! Trying really hard to support you guys.

Ordered the chicken shrimp and steak fajitas, I literally was only given two shrimp and barely any chicken or steak. More onions and bell peppers that was barely cooked… the rice was hard and nasty. First time trying and last. Excellent customer service very terrible food.

Hidden gem. Moved from San Antonio, TX where there an over abundance of authentic Mexican food. This place would fit right in. Loved the tacos and the Margheritas were awesome. The hard shell tacos were like eating a light, crispy tortilla chip. Never had such a perfect taco shell. This will definitely be a repeat. And the staff was very nice and attentive.

Fabulous Saturday breakfast! The café de olla, chocomil, and sunrise mimosa were great! My husband loved the huevos con chorizo, my daughter DEMOLISHED her stuffed concha with strawberries, cream and a hint of Nutella, and my pancakes with cajeta and strawberries were soooo good. Great service and ambiance– we are from southern California originally and we’re super picky about our Mexican food, we’ll definitely be back!!!

This place is hands down the best Mexican restaurant! Me and my fiancé saw the good reviews and had to try even though we had our own favorite Mexican restaurant for the last eight years. So many details to this place!
1. All of the hot sauces and sauces are fresh and they are delicious! The salsa verde is incredible! This has to be a chef owned restaurant just judging by all the attention to details.
2. Our margaritas were made with fresh juiced oranges. They have a machine behind the bar that juices oranges.
3. The tortillas are hand made and taste very authentic. First time for me!
4. Chicken no matter how it’s made is very juicy and tender.
5. The menu has a wide range!

I urge everyone to experience this restaurant. They have only been open for three months but we will be back!
