Lucky Yee Chinese Restaurant in New Albany is a great spot for a quick, satisfying lunch. Service is fast, and the lunch portions are generous—offering great value for the price. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating available, and the food is consistently flavorful and freshly prepared.

I used to love Lucky Yee Restaurant, but lately the food quality has really gone down. The Crab Rangoon had barely any filling, some had none at all. The crispy noodles for the soup were stale, the chow mein was dry, and nothing tasted fresh—especially the chicken and veggies. Spent $35 on 3 soups and a chow mein, and it just wasn’t worth it. Disappointing experience, not sure I’ll be back.

Updated : I’ve been a loyal customer of Lucky Restaurant for over a year, but unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill. During my recent visit, the Crab Rangoon had barely any filling—some didn’t have any at all. The crispy noodles that come with the soup were stale and lacked the crunch they used to have.

The noodles in the chow mein were very dry, and the chicken didn’t taste fresh. Even the vegetables seemed old and unappetizing. Overall, the food felt rushed and poorly prepared.

I spent $35 on 3 soups and a chow mein, and it just wasn’t worth it. Sadly, this isn’t the first disappointing experience I’ve had lately. Unless things turn around, I don’t know if I’ll be returning

This is my 2nd time trying Lucky Yee. This experience was worse than the first. We ordered:
– chicken fried rice – the chicken tasted old, like if you were to microwave leftover chicken
-egg rolls – chicken and veggie, again the chicken tasted awful and overall the egg rolls were not good
-crab rangoons – it was the only good thing!
– wontons – idk what the meat inside was but I started to chew it and had to spit it out. It was NOT fresh. The meat was old and tasted gamey.

Very disappointed. Will not be trying them again. Money wasted as we spent over 30 bucks including tip and had only 1 edible item. None of the food tasted fresh. It taste like leftovers reheated and/or fried. Would not recommend.

Chicken Egg Foo Young with brown gravy. Chicken Fried rice. Won ton soup. Pad Thai. Hot and sour soup. Great tasting dishes. Fried rice has lots of large chicken pieces. Delicious and very enjoyable!

Very disappointing meal here yesterday. Wor Shu Gai, brown gravy, fried rice, wonton soup, egg roll. The chicken was over cooked and very tough, egg roll very skinny so bland but the soup was very good and full of wontons. Staff was friendly.

Have been a customer for years. Ordered chicken fried rice, just rice and a few pieces of chicken, used to have veggies and egg. Not worth $11.00 dollars. Service has always been good. Food quality has just gone down hill.

Lightning fast take out. 7 minutes from order in store to food in my hand. Asked for extra spicy and they delivered big time. I think it may have been more chili oil but still not sure. Great food for the price and I will definitely be back

Not a local to New Albany but spent some time here with some family and Lucky Yee was absolutely delicious. Chicken Fried Rice was perfect, veggie lo-mein was flavorful, Orange Chicken had large pieces of chicken free of extra breading and with excellent cuts of chicken.

Best I have had in many years!

They are local and family owned. The gentleman that took my order was patient and friendly. I ordered a few apps. The soup and big shrimp are very good. The spring roles were ok. I’ll be going again for more take out .

Was parked waiting for their opening time and suddenly I noticed they opened a little before so that was awesome.

I was only going to order one lunch to go but gave them a tip because they opened a bit earlier and I was welcomed right away.

I could have eaten inside since it looked cozy and so quiet but I had plans already to eat this lunch at home. I like the dividers that hide the bathroom and their kitchen areas. For its space it’s well decorated and organized. I could hear them preparing my food and I enjoyed the peaceful waiting time.

Now the food omg I have been always a rice person even as a little girl so rice is my weak spot. I love some good Chinese fried rice and I also make it at home several times a month. Of all places I have tried around here this is my favorite fried rice ever.

Puerto Rico is the best place for anyone to get Chinese fried rice (after my own fried rice bc mine is ) but this one is comparable I would say.

This is the first time I have tried the egg drop soup and I see why this is a very nostalgic comfort dish to people that have eaten this since childhood. It’s very good. But my favorite is the fried rice.

Update: I have since then moved out of state. I will miss this restaurant. I wish them all well.
