TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

The music that plays indoors was too loud, so it was hard for the worker to hear my order. The food has very mixed results. The fried tendes tasted bland and they lacked some flavor. While I didn’t add any spice to the tenders, I’ve eaten several other non-spicy chicken tenders with more flavor. Luckily, the fries didn’t have these flaws. The white bread is another addition that made the meal acceptable enough. I’m not sure if I have any reason to come back though.

I ordered the Cauliflower Slider with No Sauce (as the sauce & Kale Slaw have mayonnaise & I am vegan) – the food looked good, the fries were well done, but they put sauce on the slider & even included an extra sauce on the side. Couldn’t eat it, as the sauce was drizzled on the cauliflower itself. Please be more careful when preparing these items, as I was really looking forward to trying this out. May give them another try down the line.

Very friendly staff, food was cooked to perfection! I did order the “reaper,” seasoned chicken which you have to sign a waiver for if you want to try this. It’s no joke, it’s hot as heck and I probably wouldn’t recommend it. I also got the extra hot and it was delicious and still very hot! Mac and cheese is yummy and nice spin on a spicy Mac and cheese. I would have given Dave’s Hot Chicken 5 stars if they had a better dipping sauce, Dave’s sauce isn’t for me, it’s too sweet and I’m a huge ranch fan and they don’t have ranch unfortunately. Overall good experience and would recommend!

I got the hot bites on fries without pickles. The chicken wasn’t as spicy as I expected, but it was still very tasty. The creaminess of the slaw and cheese sauce go really well with the salty/savory of the chicken and fries. Will definitely come back to try more! Very friendly cashier as well. Getting in the parking in the most difficult part of it. I blame it on the connection to the strip malls around it and the red light beside it, not the parking lot itself.

First time trying. Wanted to try when they first opened but the wait was too long. Glad we finally got to go. Jess welcomed us and was super helpful and friendly. Got the slider and top loaded fries. The in house made pickles are great addition to the chicken. Was worried it would be too hot so got mild and ended up loving the medium.

The line was kinda long but not bad they got us through quick , so the chicken has a different taste on it idk if it’s the batter or what but it was not for me ! They are very stingy with the fries and the sauce or kale slaw they put on the loaded fries and sandwiches! I got the top loaded fries I had 3 little nuggets 9 fries (literally yes I counted) a little bitty bit of cheese sauce hardly no Dave’s sauce maybe 5 pickes and about a half of a teaspoon of the kale slaw !!! Very disappointing! Only thing really good was that fruity pebbles shake ! This is what came in my container, only thing I did was take all the pickles off !! And it was freezing in there ! And do not ask for a cup of water they give you a 2oz small small cup !!

Chris was awesome! My first time in, told me all about it, made recommendations, etc. Atmosphere is great, food was well worth it! First time here and tried Hattie B’s for the first time 2 weeks ago, and this blows HB out of the water!!! Flavor is much better, larger chicken, just down right better. Only thing I wish they had, was ranch, but he told me they were perfecting it and were told it’ll be out in two weeks. I’ll def come back!

We were very iffy to try Dave’s Hot Chicken after several of our friends have had bad experiences. I personally have a gluten allergy so I couldn’t eat any thing but I had the frozen lemonade and it was good. My husband had the two sliders meal and we were kinda worried about that bit being enough food but turns out the chicken tenders are huge and I would not call them sliders they are closer to full on sandwiches! He liked it though, and the fries are great too (I did sneak some). Lowkey a little pricey for fast food but I think he will be back.
