This place is amazing! A nice cool small spot that you can come to and have a great meal. The roasted oysters are to die for and try the French Onion soup AMAZING! And the hospitality is what you look for when dining out… One of our favorite restaurants.

In love! This cozy little spot doesn’t feel crowded; tables are nicely spaced. The cocktails are divine; I will be back for the Stern Fern again asap. The Walrus & Carpenter raw oysters are the most delicious oysters I have ever tasted. Everything was delicious!! I cannot wait to come back.

This is the best restaurant in Baltimore! Incredible food, service and the vibes are 100/10. The drinks are astounding, do not sleep on the Stern Fern if you like a martini. It’s so affordable for the quality of food as well. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Great for a date night, parents dinner or girls night. LOVE so very much!

My absolute favorite restaurant in Baltimore! Despite growing up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland eating Chesapeake Bay oysters out of the half shell since I was 3, I didn’t really know oysters until I went here. This was the place that made me realize oysters can vary greatly in flavor. Depending on the day, you can choose from oysters from Maine, New Brunswick, Washington state, Prince Edward Island, and, of course, Maryland and Virginia. Everything on the menu is to die for, and the atmosphere is chill, cozy, and welcoming. No pretentiousness accompanying the high-quality food. Don’t eat seafood? No problem! The burger is the best burger in Baltimore — a mouthwatering smash burger that’s always on the menu. The coddie, a Baltimore tradition, is a must-try. Get the Stern Fern for a cocktail. All the fish are delicious too. I prefer to get there when they open at 5 and snag a seat at the bar.

First time here on a Saturday night. Great atmosphere and energy inside. Very good service. Coddies were impressive. NE Clam Chowder very fresh with a unexpected spice kick to it. Rainbow trout was fantastic. The standout was the cheeseburger & super crispy fries. Dylan was very welcoming & has this ship sailing smoothly!

What a special restaurant. I have been here a handful of times and every single time Dylan’s knocks it out of the park. There isn’t a bad dish on the menu — the flavors are beautiful, the food is fresh, and the preparation is perfect. The anchovy appetizer will make you a believer, so don’t skip it! One of my favorite places for a glowing night out on the avenue.

Sat at a high table and ordered a couple drinks which were good. Forgot to take a picture. We went right when they opened on a Friday so no wait. The staff was very friendly. We started with oysters and potato skins. I loved the oysters. The potato skins were cooked well. I got the burger after hearing how great it was. It was a pretty good smash burger. It’s simple and you can get ketchup, mustard, and Mayo on the side. I think the fish was cooked well.
The oysters and drinks I think are the stars though. I definitely want to come back for more oysters, drinks, and maybe the steamer special when they have it again. I was just set on a burger this trip.
