Love love love this place. The food is always good and so is the service. I had some friends visiting from out of town so I made reservations for dinner. It was really easy and we were seated right away. Everyone loved the bruschetta.
Wonderful spot in Downtown San Mateo offering bruschetta, salads, paninis and of course wine! I love the variety of bruschetta that includes many vegetarian options. Red and white sangria delicious. Staff friendly and checks up on their customers.
Outdoor seating perfect on a beautiful day. Interior is a bit dark but not going to knock it…live music on certain nights Average p/p with drink, salad, bruschetta plate (pick 4) about $35/person incl t/tip
The creme brûlée was pretty standard. I remember having a meat dish here that was really heavy.
Still had a fun time and made memories with coworkers. Our group might have been too big.
The service was attentive and they have a cute outdoor back patio. I got the wine flight which is 5 tasters for $25. They also have other drinks and food on the happy hour menu but I didn’t want 4 bruschetta toasts so I got 2 a la carte which came around $5-6 each. My favorite was the prosciutto with dates and marscepone cheese.
Highly recommend and will be back!
1. Pastrami panini: it was a good panini. The pastrami was flavorful but the cheese was a little too much and took away from the meat
2. BBQ chicken salad: I would not recommend this. The chicken was not flavored at all. Tested like store bought cooked chicken strips that were just coated in a BBQ sauce. And the sauce itself was sweet and didn’t have much of a BBQ taste. The rest was mainly romaine with very little black beans and other ingredients.
3. Artichoke soup: The flavor was good but we had to get out pieces of the artichoke fiber every bite and some were pretty big. It should have been strained.
4. Kid’s grilled cheese sandwich: Worth ordering if your kids like nothing else on the menu.
Dessert:
1. Lemon raspberry ice cream pie: Delicious lemon flavored that’s topped with a velvety layer of raspberry. If you like sweet and tart desserts, this is a must try!
2. Nutella, strawberry and cookie crumble bruschetta: Nothing to write home about. It tastes good but you can recreate this easily at home. I wouldn’t spend $5.75 for a single bruschetta if I were to go next time.
The outdoor ambience is very nice so we might go again and order different things.
