Enjoyed a lunchtime Thanksgiving Day meal here yesterday with friends and family. The smoked turkey was exceptionally good. Ordered grilled oysters and calamari for apps and cocktails too. Oysters were good but just a bit over cooked so not as tender. Overall though very nice meal with great service and a very nice private dining in their “outdoor” area with fireplace. Felt as if we were at home with waitstaff and chefs just for us.

We went for Thanksgiving with a reservation. They were slammed and were a little behind on seating, which was no big deal. Natalie at the bar was a rockstar with her service while we waited for our table. Once we were seated the service was great for such a busy night. We had the oyster appetizer which everyone loved even someone who never had an oyster. Then we did their smoked turkey Thanksgiving meal with the fixings and their Thursday prime rib which was a perfect medium rare. We really enjoyed our experience and look forward to trying many other menu items on future visits.

“Pretty good overall! The smoked New York strip was excellent, and the sides were delicious. The fig and prosciutto pizza was pleasantly surprising as well. It was a bit salty for my taste, but otherwise a great spot for a business dinner or date night. The exterior area is also beautiful for a nice walk afterward

We celebrated our friend’s birthday at CARVE American Grille (Central Austin), and it was a truly memorable evening. From start to finish, the experience was excellent.

The food was absolutely outstanding. The steak was cooked to perfection — juicy, flavorful, and tender throughout. The Brussels sprouts were a delightful surprise: crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned beautifully. Every bite was a pleasure.

But what really elevated the evening was the service. Our server was super, super friendly — warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our celebration special. They checked in at just the right moments without being overbearing, and their enthusiasm made everyone at the table feel welcome.

The ambiance is comfortable and upscale without feeling stuffy, which suited our birthday gathering perfectly. The staff handled us well as a party celebrating a special occasion, and didn’t make us feel rushed.

This is a sister restaurant to Perry’s so you know it’s going to be something special. My wife and I had a Friday lunch date here and thoroughly loved it. It can be a little pricey, but the offer specials and other featured dishes that won’t break the bank. The Friday special is smoked NY strip with mashed potatoes for $19…soooo good! She had the Carve board sampler plate that was also fantastic. We split some honey Sriracha Brussels and turnovers which topped it all off. Expect the best food, service and atmosphere here. Carve American Grille delivers.

The entire night was an experience. The drinks, the food – everything had a presentation to it. It was amazing. AND the presentation matched the taste. Everything was prepared to perfection. We did the Valentine’s Day special: filet mignon toast with a lobster tail for 2. It was so much food for the price and everything was delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try those meatloaf cupcakes.

I was curious about the meatloaf cupcakes so stopped by to check them out. I also tried the mac n cheese. The meatloaf comes with a whipped potato topping sprinkled with diced carrots and peas. I enjoyed the consistency, it was moist, lightly seasoned and not oily. There is a light tomato based topping on the loaf. If I tried it again I’d ask for extra sauce. It also comes with a side of brown gravy. My preference is the red sauce. The gravy was seasoned and not too thick or thin. The mac n cheese was creamy with a perfectly crusted top and a nice smoke flavor. I added a pinch of salt however it is a solid mac n cheese. This evening I reheated my leftovers and it tastes just as good as it did earlier. The customer service was great! Our server was professional and gave exceptional feedback on the menu options. She was personable and attentive. I plan on visiting again to try other menu items.

I had a wonderful solo dining experience at Carve, made even better by Tashia. I started with the steak bruschetta, which was outstanding — the horseradish sauce and balsamic glaze were a perfect balance, finished with a fresh garnish (possibly mint) that pulled everything together beautifully. It was exactly my style, and Tashia’s recommendation was spot on.

I also ordered the New Year’s special of black-eyed peas and cabbage. I’m not sure how the cabbage was seasoned, but it was surprisingly delicious — unique, comforting, and fabulous.

I don’t usually splurge on dessert, but I’m so glad I did. The seasonal pumpkin cheesecake was light, fluffy, and perfectly decadent, topped with a caramel drizzle and candied nuts. Once again, Tashia guided me perfectly.

Dining alone can be hit or miss, but this was a genuinely enjoyable experience from start to finish. I’ll definitely be back — and I hope Tashia is working.

The food and service at CARVE are fantastic. We have dined here multiple times, and have never been disappointed. Our steaks are always perfectly cooked, and their sides are absolutely delicious. They recently upgraded their cocktail menu, which even further elevates the experience. CARVE’s menu is consistently high quality with a staff to match. Do yourself a favor and add CARVE to your rotation.

We went for a work lunch and I was excited to try the Lobster Corndogs and Wagyu Cupcakes.
1st things first, our service was wonderful. Now on to nitty gritty. The Lobster Corndogs didn’t live up to my expectations. I would have loved more lobster and a crispy element. Although, the slaw is supposed to be the crispy element, it’s awkward to get a complete bite. Either crispy onion bits, crispy bacon or pretzel/corn strips/crispy rice paper on top of the corndog would give the complete bite. The corndog is pillowy with a little crisp on the outside, with a lobster/shrimp mousse “sausage” in the center. Combined with the sauce it fell flat. It was accompanied by a lemon aoli, although tasty it missed the mark of adding full citrus flavor or acid. Nothing danced on my tastebuds. It could also use a pinch of salt and a zip of spice.
I didn’t realize the Wagyu Cupcakes were like little meatloaves. I did expect the beautiful piped mashed potatoes. Once again there was a lack of texture contrast. The ground wagyu beef was very soft, almost barely keeping it’s form. The sauce on the wagyu was weirdly sweet. It felt so out of place. It really was similar to shepherd’s pie and I think if they would have made Wagyu Shepherd’s Pie it would still be enticing, especially if the potatoes are piped beautifully.
The asparagus with crabmeat was really good. A few of the asparagus were overcooked and maybe more butter was used than I would usually prefer.
We also had the Smoked Macaroni. One word: bland. It needed salt and flavor, It was as though the cheese lacked depth and definitely smoke.
If Carve expects to keep up with Perry’s, Trudeau’s, or Yard House they will need to use salt, spices and textures. Also, a little acid wouldn’t hurt.
