Food here was DELICIOUS. I ordered chaufa with pollo a la brasa! It was so good. Also, REAL FRESH CHINOLA (passion fruit) juice. LOVE IT! Definitely if you are in Norwich, eat in this place. Staff was super attentive and nice and accommodating. Great music too.

We were in town for a brief stay and impressed by the reviews and pics, so decided to try for dinner. I’ve had great Peruvian food before, so I had some expectations. Included in our order was the red snapper meal, lomo, wings, calamari and a pasta dish. First, I must say our waitress was amazing and attentive! The restaurant also had a cozy family friendly feel! My husband loved his red snapper (fried) meal, which had great tasting yucca fries on the side. The pasta dish was modified upon our request to be Alfredo, which my daughter found to be “Alfredo-ish” and liked although it wasn’t exactly giving Alfredo flavor. The calamari appetizer had a dusting of seasoning ( adobo?) inconsistently throughout, which made some bites way too salty. I was interested in getting my main course with calamari also, but after I was informed that the dusting/seasoning is fried on it, I opted not to. The wings were small and a lot of batter. The lomo which I was looking forward to, had a strand of hair in it. They remade the dish after I pointed it out and were apologetic. The steak in the lomo was well done and I enjoyed it. However, the sauce was soupy and too much was added to the dish drowning my rice. I wanted to start with the positives as there were some, but I also want to leave a honest review. The Hospitality business has two sides, the establishment that wants to thrive but also patrons paying their hard earned money.

A restaurant that had fallen off our radar in the past couple years…Canggio! It randomly popped into my head last night and took me by surprise bc it hasnt been in our rotation at all lately. So off we went, and man….Im SO GLAD we did!! What a wonderful dining experience! The bartender Alaina (sp?) was incredible. Present, attentive, knowledgeable and willing to make a drink that I offered. She is very good at what she does and it shows. Her expertise and the willingness of the owner/chef to come and chat with us made our night. Then there’s the FOOD. OMG. You can taste the love and effort that goes into this food. We started with the ceviche trio. Each one was so fresh and bright. Jay got the flank steak and I got the octopus. I have to say the octopus was cooked to perfection and the presentation was unique w the spinach mashed potato wave. Absolutely delicious. She even suggested a wine that would properly accompany my dish. We usually skip dessert, but we couldn’t pass up the cream filled churros with ice cream and chocolate raspberry sauce. Again, perfect. I cannot say enough about Canggio. Just GO. So glad we did! ️

This review is long overdue! I am a newlywed, and my husband and I went to Canggio’s the day after our wedding for brunch. Our server, Olivia was amazing. She was sweet and friendly, and when I mentioned that we had just gotten married the day before, she expressed how happy she was for us and was so sweet and genuine. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Belgium waffles with fresh fruit, and a frittata with smoked salmon and it was the best breakfast food that I’ve had in a while. My husband and I both agreed that the food and service was absolutely divine, and we expressed this to our server numerous times as she came over to check on us and make sure we had everything we needed. Then, when we were ready to leave and asked for the check, we were completely surprised to find that our check had already been taken care of. We looked up in confusion, and another staff member, possibly the owner told us that our meal was on them and congratulated us on our wedding. We were so touched by everyone kindness. Thank you for an amazing meal, and for the genuine kindness of your entire staff. You are amazing, and will be back!

Anytime I’m going back to Norwich, I’ll stop by again. Their Calamari is so delicious. The food was exquisite. The service was amazing, Tyler is lovely and make our dinner more delightful. He suggested us to try their pumpkin spice Martini. So gooooood. The atmosphere is so nice, the whole team is amazing, they deserve the 5 stars and I’ll come back again.

I definitely will be coming back. The food, the drinks, the atmosphere is absolutely mesmerizing. From friendly faces and service from the second we walked in we were made to feel like family. It was an amazing place to have dinner for my wife and I. The people at Canggio make it so easy to navigate the menu. We will be coming back and recommending it to anyone in the area or around. We came from Northern Vermont and to have the experience of Peru and Italy for the first time was absolutely amazing.

Nice setting—food delicious! Waitstaff attentive and friendly. Spacious for a small restaurant-felt like there was enough space between tables to have a private conversation. Ceviche fabulous! Calamari was delicious and tender-cooked to perfection. Stew with marinated beef with lentils was really great—enough to take home and enjoy the next day. Reasonable prices spent about $35 per person, including cocktails. We highly recommend Canggio!!

Amazing and flavorful food as always !!
Party of 3
We had the trio ceviche, and calamari as our app great size portions. We even had enough to take some home.
For our entree- we shared the pulpo (my husband and my go to every damn time) and the flavors are so perfect. We also shared the lomo a Peruvian staple and the lomo was also so flavorful.
We shared the flan and churro for dessert.
Every flavor of sauce Julio makes I wish I could bottle up and take home.
Such a little gem in Norwich.
Thank you Julio. And Elena your are a rockstar too.
Thanks for your amazing margaritas and recommendations.
We appreciate you both.
