This was our first time here but it was temporarily moved to the conference center which is very nice itself. It’s a very nice drive through the park scenery on the way too! The restaurant was very clean and professionally staffed. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
The food was great! I love home style cooking and man-o-man this is going to be a favorite of mine. The salad bar is amazing with extras like beets, cottage cheese, potato salad, coleslaw and more!
They had the fried chicken and BBQ pork when we attended. They were both good but the pork a little tough. The deserts were good too! Love the nice atmosphere!
Update July 2025
Food was very good again and the atmosphere great. The park is top quality with everything!

So, they’re not shut down, they’re temporarily located in the Conference Center building. I was there today for lunch for the first time, and I think I would have missed it except a friend with me had been before.
Service was incredibly friendly. I’m not a fan of buffets, but the food was really quite good. I’ve recently changed my eating habits and this place was making me wish I hadn’t. Fried fish, pork chops, mashed potatoes, fried zucchini, a fantastic salad bar, and the desserts looked wonderful. For $12 I don’t think it could be beaten.

It’s still in the convention center. I think that has a lot to do with food quality. Very bland. Bread was hard chicken was dry. Food is for older people who don’t want any spices including salt and pepper. Atmosphere was weird kinda like a hotel breakfast bar. Could at least use a little music to stifull the quiet. Server’s we’re very attentive and friendly.

So glad they moved back to the Lodge! Third night back and they were crazy busy. Most people were eating the buffet but we were excited to try the new menu-big mistake. Took over an hour to get a grilled chicken dinner and reuben sandwich. The waitress was very apologetic and comped us the salad bar. She told us that they’re severely understaffed. There were only 3 servers in the dining room and 3 in the kitchen. The food was really good and, in spite of being overwhelmed, our waitress was excellent. We’ll definitely be back when they’re better staffed.

Tea tasted old. Pork was too tuff to eat , even with the gravy.. potato wedges were cold and hard. Green Beans…not good like they used to be. Cake was dry and the icing was disgusting. I can’t believe they are allowed to serve food of less than atable quality. It used to be a good place to eat years ago.

Today 12/6/2025 Pork chops and Salisbury steak on the buffet pork chops so tough I couldn’t cut it with a knife much less chew it Salisbury so dry it was choking me The food quality of this place has really gone down not worth the money not worth making the trip. Servers stand around and talk too much instead of taking care of the customers.

The views & seating area bump this from a 3 star dinner buffet to a 4 star over all experience. The Friday catfish was very good. Good selection on the salad bar. We didn’t try the soups or desserts but they had them. The price was decent for a buffet. The servers are happy & assertive.
Sunday breakfast buffet was only okay. Food was cold, not even luke warm. No bowls were out for the oatmeal or grits. It would be nice if there were small cups for the maple syrup to dunk the French toast sticks in. The scrambled eggs were obviously not homemade. Had the food been warm, maybe we would recommend this $9 quick breakfast. Had we known they were open until 2, switching over to lunch, we would have waited. The server Friday didn’t mention that they were open until 2 on Sundays. Again, the servers were very good. A few little tweaks could be made to make this a 5 star visit.

Super nice bar, just off of the lobby of the hotel. Jeff is a great bartender and was very friendly and interesting. We had the bourbon flights. Fun way to taste Kentucky.
