I ordered the drunken noodles with Thai tea and the food was excellent. The atmosphere in this restaurant was welcoming. This place is not too busy which makes it easy to order food inside. The place is located in a shopping plaza where parking is easy to find. My personal experience with the restaurant was friendly.

The food was delicious and the person waiting on us was very nice. I for the Pad Woon Sen and it was excellent. The dining room was very cold and the food took 45 minutes to come out- even the appetizers.

Had the Red Curry and Pad Thai. We very much enjoyed both meals. Their ‘hot’ isn’t super hot. A good portion of thier menu is naturally gluten free. The staff was friendly.

The woman that helped us was nice and pleasant. She didn’t look Thai or sound like she was speaking Thai, but I tried not to judge a book by the cover. I understand not all Thai places are not going to be run by Thai folks, and maybe she was Thai, so I tried not to think anything of it.
I’m Lao, so I’m critical when it comes to Thai/Lao food, however, I give grace that it’s not gonna be as funky as I like it at any Thai place.
Thai tea did not taste like any Thai tea I’ve ever had anywhere and not in a good way. Drunken noodles were fine. Tom kha gai (with chicken) was good. Pad Thai was bland and colorless, along with the pork in it. The chicken larb was NOT chicken larb. It was a chicken salad, I guess? No larb flavors whatsoever. Chicken satay was dry, and we didn’t like the sauce it came with either. Papaya salad was made with RIPE PAPAYA and with onions… WHAT?! That is a no-no and a never. Given, onions is written on the menu; it was weird, but the whole thing just went on the trash.
Probably not going back. I was so disappointed with how much we spent.

I’m new to Louisville and this was my first time checking this place out. I was NOT disappointed! From the fried tofu to the drunken noodles to the fried banana, everything was amazing! Fresh, perfectly seasoned and delicious! You can’t go wrong with anything here but definitely try the drunken noodles because these are the best I’ve ever had!

We have gotten carry-out from McCaslin Thai a few times now. Each time the food has been outstanding! The food has been well flavored and made exactly how we have asked. We love this place. Please try it, we know you will not be disappointed!

The food / price / portions are great! I especially like the green curry and pad thai. It isn’t fancy or a novel culinary experience, but it’s a consistently solid, well-run business. I would love it even more if they had fresh rolls as an appetizer!

First the positives: The one lady working the front of the restaurant was SUPER nice, friendly, attentive. The pricing was pretty good for the area, and the portions were sizeable/shareable. Unfortunately, the overall experience was a little rough. It was SO HOT in the dining area. The thermostat said 89 degrees. Neighboring restaurant had a sign up “closed to do HVAC issues” so I’ll chalk this one up to hopefully a one time problem. Because of this they had doors open, and flies were bugging us the whole meal. The food was a mix. Spring rolls and massaman curry were excellent. Drunken noodles were dripping in oil and the veggie moma was very odd. Presented nicely, but the flavor was not Thai – it was overwhelming Cumin based, and no one at the table wanted a second one. Maybe a bad night due to the HVAC, we will probably give them another shot dues to their proximity and the great reviews otherwise. I will update if this was a fluke.

I wanted to like this place. I seriously did. But it’s not my kind of Thai. The pad thai was mild and bland, and pretty much everything else (tom yum, chef’s special) tasted like ketchup. The papaya salad lacked flavor too and the mango sticky rice had mangoes that were cut too close to the skin they were crunchy. I love small supporting small businesses but this one isn’t quite for me.

The atmosphere is modest but the food is superlative! The Panang curry was excellent – heat and flavor balanced with nicely cooked veggies. The pad Thai was absolutely delicious! I strongly recommend McCaslin Thai!
