Parson’s Chicken & Fish affectionately references the chicken and fish eateries prevalent to the West Side of Chicago, and found in cities, coasts and regions across the country – the sorts of places that offer affordable eats quickly, and that satisfy big appetites.
Working against larger culinary trends, we’re intent on demonstrating that drinking and eating can be done affordably and quickly, but also delectably, using judicious, locally sourced, quality ingredients.
Which is to say, we’re looking to prove that good drinks and eats can be affordable, delicious, local and quick, when needed.
Oh, and super fun, too!

Food is above average, but nothing out of ordinary. The cheese curds had a fishy taste, probably because of the oil, and cold. The french fries were crispy. Both burger and crispy chicken sandwich were juicy. The place is severely understaffed for that many consumers. The interior and exterior were very nice and inviting!

We stopped in for a late dinner and ordered the hot nuggets and the half chicken with fries.
My partner really enjoyed his meal, the chicken was flavorful and perfectly juicy. I was a bit underwhelmed with my hot nuggets, as I wished they had been just as juicy and tender. Overall, though, it was a nice spot for a casual bite and we’d consider coming back to try something different next time. (They have a lot of fun frozen cocktails we would like to try!)

This place is spacious and delicious. Me love it long time. The Hush Puppies are way better than most. Shhhh!

Food was pretty bland, no seasoning on the fried shrimp or chicken. The numerous dips in the big dipper platter did help though. Ponderosa salad was rather flavorless too except the bacon pieces.
Highlights were the hush puppies, fries were alright too for the lightly battered style but not even salted. Think this more of a place to drink, as that menu was pretty fleshed out and we liked all that we got. Very spacious

We love Parson’s Chicken and Fish! We’ve been coming to multiple locations for years and are never disappointed. Favorites include the chicken and waffles, mac ‘n’ cheese, and chicken sandwich. The fish and chips and coleslaw are honorable mentions—but I personally skip the burgers here. They have a large beer and cocktail menu, plus plenty of alcohol-free options like pickle soda. Try their own Parson’s beer! This place is a true Chicago staple in my book.

Always a fun and reliable spot. The food is consistently good, especially for a casual weekend brunch with friends. The fried chicken sandwich is a standout — crispy, flavorful, and satisfying, though definitely messy.
Drinks are on the smaller side but well made.

Really delicious food, great drinks, and a fun vibe! We were able to sit comfortably as a party of 9 and we didn’t wait that long for the food, especially given how crowded it was on a Friday night. I would return for the slushy cocktails alone. Hush puppies with ham/bacon were also incredible. I’m from the south and was very impressed.

Everyone is incredible and I have never had a bad experience. It’s clear they have high standards when it comes to hiring; as each time we are served by someone with friendliness, knowledge, and patience. Matt and Gabby are both amazing at running the place while also serving, food-running, snd bartending. Andrew, Noah, and Deshon are also always a pleasure to work with. I have been coming here for years as my go to spot and it’s EASILY the staff who make it a great place to be. Family friendly as well. Food is always 10/10.

This is our third time to a Parson’s and I am sad to report they have repeatedly been inconsistent with their food. The staff is always friendly and great, but one time the breading on the chicken was so overdone it was hard to break through to get to the chicken, and the other time the bun must have stayed in the toaster too long and was stiff. If you are a beer drinker the standard pour size for draft here is 12 oz.
I fondly remember the Parson’s Burger and the Parson’s Buffalo Poutine. The fries have that extra crunch on the outside making them one of the best things on the menu. We also were influenced by our neighboring diners to order the side of pickles ($3), which is a great addition because they complement everything on the menu.
You cannot beat the amazing vibe with the outdoor picnic benches and the gravel patio with red and white striped umbrellas throughout. Everyone is happy and here for a good time. Always make a reservation online because it is unlikely they won’t be busy and have a line!
