We normally have good experience in other Urabane Cafe locations except for this one. The plating was messy and appeared unappetizing. The fish was overcooked and did not look like the picture. The staff did seem to care and barely smiled. The place felt cramped. There were boxes and the entire space seemed disorganized and chaotic.

First time here on a Tuesday night and it seems pretty busy. A lot of online & pickup orders coming in and out. There’s indoor & outdoor seating. The food is fantastic but I did notice behind the counter kitchen area was super dirty specifically the floor. I feel like keeping a clean kitchen says a lot about how clean the staff is and how well the upkeep of the facility is. Maybe have a staff member do a sweep every hour on the hour to keep the kitchen clean. As a customer I can see the entire kitchen when ordering. Also want to note: the cookies are delicious!

Passing through Ventura and looking for a quick and tasty place to get lunch , I stopped in to this Urbane Cafe location .
Parking was super easy as there was plenty of open spots in front of the store .
Menu was easy to navigate and the staff helped me decide between the salads. Sat outdoors but got confused as there are two stores next to each other and it was t very clear which tables belonged to Urban Cafe .
Salad was excellent! Fresh flavors healthy portion and a very good piece of bread to accompany. Goat cheese and pecans are a wonderful combination with the mixed greens and chicken .
Prices are very reasonable . Definitely worth stopping in for a lunch !

I always love this place. They are fully staffed, and you are in and out even when they are busy.
I ordered the sundried tomato pesto chicken sandwhich. It’s perfect. Bursts of flavor. I like a little added moisture to my sandwiches so I asked for a side of their Balsamic dressing they use on their salads, and I dipped my sandwich in it. Perfect!

The sandwich options are great. Chicken, turkey, steak and vegan. Don’t get the stale chips or the gross cookies though. Stick with the main meals and satisfy your sweet tooth somewhere else . This is an update 10/21/25. My wife and I went back. The sandwichescare great and the chips are no longer stale! They listened and improved. Get the chips with your sandwich!! Respect to the manager / owner.

I had an issue with doordash and I called the store to make sure my replacement order would be taken care of and Fernando went above and beyond!! He was so kind and even offered me a few salad if I came into the store. I told him it wasn’t necessary, but the fact that he was so supportive and his customer service was ON POINT!! He was so amazing!!

They have a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from, the SoCal, Santa Maria and the Californian are the go to’s. Good flavor and portion sizing that will leave you content but not overstuffed.

Food great. Suggestion, offer the option to have warm chicken in the salad. The cold chicken is a turn off for me. Service, below par. And I am too exhausted. Stop asking for a tip when I swipe my card. A tip if for great service, experience etc. let me eat the food, or experience the service while waiting. Remove this from your card machine. At the front end of the purchase, what have you done beyond taking my money? This is tacky. It puts me in an awkward position to try and find how to back out or skip it.
