A reasonable selection of American Mexican cuisine at fair prices. Their restaurant has a nice Mexican vibe and clean atmosphere. Our server was very attentive & the service was fast. Ample parking

Meh. The special chimichanga was smothered in BBQ sauce completely overpowering the flavor of the entire thing. The kids tacos were over priced as was the chili rellano, which was good but bland. Overall for the price was way below expectation. I’ll take sol toro amy time and for less.

Delicious! Loved the 4 salsa and homemade tortilla chips! Plantains were delicious and I loved the rice! My husband really enjoyed his enchiladas. Our waiter, Tyler, was awesome!!

Just wow. I was really impressed with the quality of the food. The presentation was nice and the taste was amazing. I had the carne asada street tacos. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. I will be coming back for more since the menu is so vast. The service was great good. Also there is a good selection of drinks to choose from. You get what you pay for here!

The quinoa salad with chicken was so good. The chicken was very tender and the salad was very light and flavorful

We came on Cinco de Mayo, and even though the place was packed, we had attentive service and great meals. The drinks are also really well made. Would definitely come back for dinner again!

The second visit was disappointing. First time we loved the enchiladas and mole. This time. It fell flat. I thought they charged too much and the food wasn’t good. The fajitas were just steamed green peppers and onions. The chicken was bland. We order chips, and thought since we paid 9 bucks it would be free refills. $4 for second basket of chips and they charged for more salsa. my daughters burrito could have fed four people. Maybe they needed to justify $20 for a ground beef burrito. But it tasted like a cheap burrito and was not eaten. Canned salsa. Small basket of chips. Black beans only. No pinto
We were a party of 6, and I was looking for my waitress most of dinner. She showed up when it was too late. I was floored when I realized that they add 20% tip automatically when you have a pary of 6. Most restaurants mandate a tip with a party of 8. I did not know this last time, and I am sure I added another 20% on top of my 120%. Rio Salado in Mystic is much better food and nicer atmosphere. Over $30 person, only 5 entrees, one was a kids meal.

I typically dont leave poor reviews BUT as a native New Yorker and traveler, I feel responsible to leave an honest review to prevent other ppl expecting a “progressive” dining experience from being disappointed. From the decor to the food; everything is below average and outdated. Biggest No No is they actually charge for chips and salsa. I am including photos of a local restaurant in my town – that actually is progressive. You can judge for yourself if La Llorona even comes close – And of course they include complimentary infinite from- scratch delicious chips and salsa. We hv several authentic Mexican restaurants in our area and they ALL include complimentary homemade chips n salsa. I’ve only been to one other Mexican restaurant that charged for chips n salsa and that restaurant only lasted a few months before shutting down. Our meals at La Llorona had little flavor, no garnish and taste like something you would order at a theme park. Llorona, unless you are willing to update your overall Interior and actually serve well prepared food; please remove “Progressive” from your business name and stop charging for chips and salsa!! Otherwise change your name simply to Llorona and save many customers from leaving your restaurant llorando.

We knew it was going to be an enjoyable meal the minute we walked in. The decor abs set up of the restaurant was gorgeous. We loved the fact we could sit outside unfortunately to our dismay our party couldn’t sit together due to the fact that they can’t move the outdoor table to accommodate parties over 4. Other than that everything was great. The staff was so friendly and were right there anytime we needed something. I had a Hawaiian Margherita which was well worth what I paid and the meal presentation was beautiful. All the different salsa varieties were amazing with the chips and on our food. They were very pricy but everyone is right now. All in all I can’t wait to go back and would highly recommend to everyone.

La Llorona has great service and great food. Definitely recommend if you’re in the mood for Mexican food and Tequila. Margaritas are no joke as well. The Braised Short Rib was perfect and the fish tacos had a generous amount of fish. I will be back to enjoy this place again.
