BBQ joint featuring wood-smoked meats, a salad bar & house brews amid traditional wood-lined decor.

We should have heeded the warning of the dirty bathroom. The water had a distinct taste to it that wasn’t too pleasant, and the beer tasted as if the lines haven’t been taken care of for quite some time. The food was not that great, the pork was very dry and resembled beef jerky, the other guest with me didn’t even believe it was pork. Our server was good and things moved quickly, sadly the service was the only good thing about this place. I was hoping for more considering the history behind the place.

While I enjoyed my minced pork sandwich the Mac and cheese could use a little bit more seasoning. I also wasn’t aware that the fries were actually wedges and are seasoned with something sweet and salty. The staff was also pleasant and helpful.

Id love to see this place get more business than it does. Really the best BBQ in Midlothian. Plus they do growler fills and make their own beer (which is great)

The atmosphere was
beautiful, and the live band was very talented and a pleasure to listen to. The food was exceptional. The fries were quite good;
however, the fried chicken nuggets had an unpleasant unusual taste, as if the frying oil might have been old. I would consider returning, but only if the frying oil is refreshed to ensure better
fried items.

I went here multiple times as a child and remember it being good. Saw some bad reviews on here but decided to give it a try myself just to see.
Me and my wife went in and tried a flight of all five of the homebrewed varieties. All of them were very good, better than I had expected. Not one disappointed.
I would not come back to eat food here. The burnt ends were okay but my brisket was probably the worst I’ve ever had. Just dry and tasteless. As others have said, I couldn’t taste a bit of smoke. Had to drown it in sauce and still couldn’t finish it. My wife’s pulled pork sandwich was not very good either. Sides were decent.
We did receive excellent service. I wouldn’t come here again for food, that was about a 0/5. But if your into craft beers they do have some pretty good ones here.

Well, with this visit to Extra Billy’s all I managed to do was add a restaurant to my list of places I never need to visit again. We were greeted and sat right away, drinks arrived right away…. And maybe I’m crazy, but isn’t BBQ prepared, smoked, or grilled in advance? Why did it take 30 min to put it on a plate and bring it to the table?
The brisket was leathery enough to make a belt, the smoked chicken was dry enough to make an Egyptian mummy seem like a model for Cera’ve – the green beans and collards were boiled-bland then rolled around in a salt mine to reconstitute the flavor.
My whole party agrees on one thing. Whoever is ‘ cooking’ – has long since given up.
The one star for the food was for my beer- the only redeeming part of the meal.

Brisket was mid. Pulled pork was good. Food and appetizer came out very, very slow despite it being 530pm and us being one of only about six tables. Given that the BBQ and sides had to have been cooked much earlier this was surprising. Place is in desperate need of a deep clean. Table was sticky. Some sauce like substance was on the table side lampshade. Bathrooms need attention. Service was very good despite the delay.

Our pulled pork meal was very good. It is painfully obvious though that the return from Covid is taking it’s toll on service. The host was miserable but trying to be nice after we waited some time to get acknowledged. Our servers were very very pleasant but running ragged. I hope they get a good night’s sleep tonight. The bathroom stunk and needed a mop. To be fair, we need to go back after adjustments have leveled out as the food is good and I would definitely try again for that reason.

An expansive and comfortable restaurant and pub with amazing local craft beer, $2 beer specials and the best smoked sausage since Grandma cooked it. If you remember the good old days, this is a step through time. Kid’s meals and small plates run about $7-$8 and are just right for a good meal that’s not a plate of fried food that ruins your health. Blue grass music on Thursdays and I’ll be back to review and enjoy along with another small plate and a Blond brew for warm evenings. Lovely outdoor seating avoids the sun and options for comfort are the best I’ve seen in decades. There’s something to fit the ease of all. My photos were taken at 4pm upon their opening. Google the location and go! It’s only a few blocks from the crowded Chesterfield Town Ctr and at Extra Billy’s Smokehouse and pub, the parking is easy and comes with shade. No hot car return for home! Right by Southern States, this is a great place for any age. The outdoor patio makes a simple choice for breeze and carefree dining. Best review I recall posting for restaurants. Take a tour inside and look at the brewery too! Bring the truck because there’s plenty of room here for parking!
