Every couple months when we are in Puerto Aventuras, we always look forward to dining at La Caleta. Great food, always fresh and delicious, beautiful atmosphere and wonderful staff. Jonathan is the best! Friendly, excellent service and always with a beautiful smile. Jonathan cares about his customers and takes great pride in customer satisfaction. Definitely worth a visit and you will want to return.

Truly one of best experiences of my lifetime. Very professional and knowledgeable team who helped onboard me thoroughly, making me feel very comfortable with the challenge ahead. I felt completely safe and secure throughout the entire afternoon and very spoiled to end the day with a delicious and super generous dinner to enjoy with my wife. Customer service was top notch, leaving me with an unbelievable memory I will cherish for the rest of my life! I brought all my own equipment, though they made everything needed available at no additional cost and still allowed me to swap with theirs whenever needed throughout the trip. Absolute professionals, and a big big big thanks for making my first time so fantastic that it’s turned me into a lifelong lover of spearfishing!

My husband and I were tired of the hotel food so we walked to the closest restaurant to get something to eat. I got the ribeye tacos which were ok, and a mojito. My husband got the picanha steak and a lobster tail. I tried both and they were good, the best or close to the best I’ve had, no. Now here’s where you should pay closer attention because we did not. The lobster tails are sold by weight 3 pesos/gram. Not usually how cooked tails are sold in the US, also grams not how we measure either. My 3 ribeye tacos and one mojito was about $40 which is a lot. Hubbys picanha steak was $50 and if you’ve had that cut before you know it’s not a choice cut of meat. Similar to a sirloin if comparing to other cuts. Lastly, the remainder of the bill…$110 for the lobster tail. Now it was big but not having seen the tails prior to being cooked and shown what size equals what cost is kinda silly. I feel like they just picked the largest one for him. I feel it was very expensive for what we received.

After walking 20 minutes from the PA Hotel to a restaurant over by the Grand Marina just to find it closed on a Monday (Google and Yelp showed it Open) we walked back and called La Caleta just for kicks (Google and Yelp showed it Closed). We were so happy to find them open as we were tired of the same generic menus found along the “Dolphin Loop”.
The Octopus Carpaccio was fresh and well balanced, the Whole Red Snapper (fried) was flavorful although slightly overcooked, and the Coconut Shrimp and roasted potatoes were amazing.
Best of all, the service was attentive, kind, and generally excellent.

We had the Mahi Mahi cevice, medium chicken and seafood soup. OMG!!! The chicken is roasted on an open flame and the spices are the best we’ve had, better than my own imo. The mahi mahi is tender and the seafood soup is full of seafood. Its not super big but perfect for a medium appetite. The food, service and atmosphere is great. It’s easily the best food we’ve had since we’ve been here. Highly recommend!!

We went with friends to Check out other restaurants around the area and the smell of bbq took us to La Caleta, the first thing I saw was real fire and lots of charcoal under the grill which is a sign of real authentic bbq.
I had lamb, my wife had fish and it was amazing, other friends had Empanandas that were to die for. Alex and Carlos were very attentive and very friendly.
I highly recommend this place and definitely will be back!
