I stopped in at the China Buffet in South Haven and really enjoyed the experience. The food was solid — I’d give it four stars. Good variety and everything was fresh. What really stood out, though, was the service and atmosphere. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the place had a welcoming vibe that made the meal even better. That part deserves five stars. Overall, a great spot if you’re in South Haven and looking for a good buffet.

Every time I come here the food is hot and fresh! So many options available. The service is always amazing!! They have never forgotten silverware, A fortune cookie or a smile when I have come in for the take out buffet. From egg rolls to fresh cut watermelon they have it all.

Food was dry, stuck to the pan and others crusted over. The lettuce was rotten. I challenge any of the staff to fix a salad and eat it. I can’t imagine them eating the majority of the food we found on the buffet. The ham was good.

We stopped by simply because it was convenient to where we were shopping, and were super-impressed with the warm and friendly customer service. When my husband complimented the delicious hot tea, they not only volunteered the flavor (Jasmine), they prepared a container of the leaves for us to bring home and brew our own, at a great price!

The sight of them wiping down the surfaces with what appeared to be dirty rags from the kitchen only compounded my concerns. It was clear that basic hygiene standards were not being met, posing a serious risk to the health and safety of patrons.
Overall, my experience at the China Buffet was marred by both the lackluster food quality and the alarming lapses in sanitation. It’s deeply concerning to witness such negligence in a restaurant setting, and I would hesitate to recommend this establishment to anyone. Management must take immediate action to address these issues and prioritize the health and well-being of their customers. We arrived at china buffet in South Haven at eleven thirty am. They did not know the price for senior lunch. The pop and coffee is not included. Pop cost $3, and the coffee is a dollar. The food was cold. Nobody came to the table for a long time.

They messed up my first order SIMPLE plain (white rice add vegetables with fried chicken). My next visit they messed it up again… So, at this point I called took them atleast 15mins to understand english over the phone. Order placed it’s even worse yellow rice with overcooked fried chicken. They so called themselves replacing the order jus to make it even horrible yet again the fried chicken for whatever reason is always overcooked but this time they added way too much salt at least this time they did get the rice correct. ((I DON’T RECOMMEN DOING a CALL in order)) the plain white rice with or without vegetables is questionable and your fried chicken is guaranteed to be overcooked…

This is a hidden gem! The building isn’t the nicest but the quality of the food MORE than made up for it. Went on a Sunday around 430 and it was slammed as to be expected. Staff struggled to maintain the buffet and they were clearly understaffed but the employees were hustling and working extremely hard despite their adversities. I highly recommend this place if you are craving the stereotypical Chinese food found on buffets. Oh, and they also had crawfish which was surprising and it was actually very good.
