I loved the atmosphere and vibes of this place. I thought the food was really good. There was a lot of short rib in my bowl which i very much appreciated and it was good. Tender and flavorful. The eggs, potatoes, and chipotle sauce were good additions. But what really drove this dish was their hot sauce, I am not sure if it was homemade or not but it was really good. I do wish it had some freshness/sweetness to balance out the saltiness of the dish. Overall though worth the money and a dish that wont let you down. The cappuccino was fine. Overall I think its worth the money and worth a visit.

I’ve been to this location twice for coffee recently and had a great experience both times. Highly recommend whatever featured latte they have, so far they’ve knocked it out of the park with the Banana Foster and Sherry Baby. Can’t wait to come back and try brunch soon!

For the price, we were expecting to be at least pleased with our food, but sadly we won’t be eating here again. Just underwhelming, “meh” feeling to the food. Not what you want to walk away with after spending $100 (we ordered an app, 2 entrees, a glass of wine, and a dessert latte)

I love MudPenny at ANY location, but I recently tried the newest one in Rockford, and it did not disappoint. The halibut was done perfectly and swam in a coconut sauce that was delightful. I paired it with a glass of French wine and treated myself to affogato with caramel gelato for dessert. The servers were pleasant as always. The atmosphere was cozy. This will be my new favorite location.

Came here for brunch, food was great. Service was friendly. Atmosphere was welcoming. This place is a fantastic addition to the area. Can’t wait to see where they’ll be after 3 months of being open. Menu is unique and food is fresh. Give them grace as they just opened. As a chef, this will be a staple for me in the area when I want to go out.

Really loved our brunch my wife and I enjoyed here. We are Rockford locals and do not really understand the negative reviews here. MudPenny is clean, upscale, inviting with great staff and excellent coffee and food. This place is much more geared toward a finer-dining/upscale brunch spot, but the prices were exactly as expected and the food quality exceeded the cost. Will be back!

Our waitress was nice and attentive but the food was a disappointment. Overpriced and no flavor. The potatoes were hard the omelette had no flavor and my hash brown in my wrap was burnt. The decor is underwhelming, pretty basic and cold inside due to all of the windows. Also, the mimosas we ordered were the smallest pour we’ve ever had. Even if they decide to pour a small amount of champagne, they could have at least filled the glass with a little more juice. The picture below has about two sips out of it. Overpriced and underwhelming.

We were at Rockford Mudpenny during the holidays and had a great time. We were a party of 12 for brunch. Everyone thought the food was delicious as well as the drinks. Our server was very personable despite being very busy he was able to keep good tabs on us
A couple of us went there another time for lunch and had the burger and fries. It was very tasty
We will be going back there very soon
