The Quixotic story began in 2011 as a ministry at Grace Lutheran Church with the goals of giving youth employment skills and an opportunity to earn money for mission trips, confirmation camp, and other youth activities. In 2016, we were accepted into Rockford City Market and the North End City Market in 2017. It was always our dream to grow to the point where we could return to our original vision for Quixotic Bakery and hire youth. In 2019, that goal became a reality as we opened our first retail location in the newly refurbished Indoor City Market and hired our first employees. I love baked goods and dessert, but unfortunately I’m also gluten free. That makes the selection in Rockford pretty limited. We also have a few food allergies in the family. I go to Quixotic for every birthday and family event.

Excellent little place! There wasn’t a huge amount to choose from but I had one interesting pastry. It was like a puff pastry and it’s got marshmallow that’s been toasted with a torch and graham cracker and chocolate., obviously it’s a s’mores pastry and it was excellent. They have another one I have to come back and try it with a blue cheese and pear Bay Street which sounded good, maybe not to most people but to me I’d like to try

They had a booth at the Pride event in Rockford on June 5th and so my sister and I decided to look at their sweets for sale and I’m so glad we did! I got the Cinnamon Roll Cake in a cup while my sister got the Wedding Cake in a cup. We both loved our treats and my only regret is not buying some more! Definitely a wonderful first impression of this bakery. I plan on coming back! ❤

My husband and I ordered 4 cake in a jars through a delivery service and they were $8 a piece not including the other fees (taxes, delivery service, delivery and tip) which we were fine to pay. Afterall it was delivery. I thought, at first, this was close to the price they cost inside the bakery. Unfortunately, they were between $3.00-$5.50 more. I understand pricing up slightly for the storage but having someone pay $5.50 more for the same item is ridiculous. Even if all of ours cost $5.00, that would still be an additional $12.00 for those small cups. The cakes also came frozen with way more frosting than anything else. For a first time experience, having a second is highly unlikely. I guess if you live in Rockford, you get better service and product.

Seriously fantastic sweet treats. The space is well on its way to being adorable. It’s nice to have the familiar taste of Kate’s mini pies available nearby some ice creams and other delectable sweet treats. This place has the goods and the service was very friendly.

Whenever I stop in I’m always greeted with a warm smile and welcome. The staff brings me up to speed with their newest Quixotic creations (love the Raspberry Lemonade Cake) and I walk out with a bag of goodies!!!

This place has the best Raspberry Ribbon Cookies! Just be sure to call ahead and order them because they are so popular they have trouble keeping them in stock! They also freeze well. Don’t miss an opportunity to stock up on them.

Really delicious and moist cakes. Patient as we made our selections. They didn’t make us feel rushed even though they were close to closing time. Also got the peanut butter cereal bar. That is now my SO’s favorite thing in the world.
