I grew up on Vancouver sushi, so my expectations are higher- and I usually really like going here, but the last few times have been nauseating to eat, the salmon nigiri starts off good, but the rice has an odd flavour that lingers on, and the tuna maki/nigiri is barely holding its shape it falls apart at the touch, mushed, and looks slimy. I love raw fish, but this has such a not good fishy kind of taste that it makes me nervous. The tuna also had a lot of strings everywhere- I’ve never seen sushi look that way, I’m sure it’s just the structure of the meat but I’d hope for the price the food wouldn’t look like this. Overall just disappointed especially for paying as much as I did, for a meal I couldn’t finish. Ultimately don’t let me stop you from loving it, but I don’t think I’ll be going back.

This is my husband and I’s favourite sushi spot in town! We like doing takeout, so this restaurant’s set up works for us. Really well priced, and the food is great. I’ve never had a complaint.

Food is good, it’s our go to sushi place in Prince George. The fish is fresh and the rice is properly made, properly sized and not too much. The cooked food is good too, gyoza, tempura, etc.
Atmosphere I just gave c 4 stars because there isn’t much space for dine in anymore. Just a little bar. But that’s ok for us we order to go anyway. Make sure you order ahead of time as they get busy.

Today was the final time I was giving this place a chance, over the years ive tried them several times and am always disappointed…. Like today which was no different grabbed a 97 dynamite roll
The tempura prawns in it are so old nothing but chewy and taste like they never change their deep fryer oil honestly such a bummer
And a spicy California roll except the didn’t pup any spicy mayo/sauce on it
I didn’t put a tip on when i order but always tip when I pick up and for what reason so I can have mediocre food and don’t feel awkward leaving an establishment? Screw that we tip on service and they lack on it
Regardless avoid this place try some of of our other amazing sushi places down the road

I stopped in quickly for pick up. The cashier was friendly and the sushi was fresh and very flavorful…dynamite roll, California Roland yam roll. All were good and came with ginger, wasabi and soya sauce. Good value for money.

Starting off, the sushi is to die for! The rolls are massive and at an affordable price. They also came out super fast too. However, if you’re looking to dine in, there’s only limited seats and it’s first come first serve. There’s no privacy to the seats, which are right by the door. But if you’re not picky, then the food is totally worth it!

The fish to rice ratio was satisfyingly high. The fish itself tasted fresh with a good texture. I didn’t like the dynamite roll (way too much cucumber and only plain mayo on top). The tuna and salmon avocado rolls however were top tier, just loaded with fish and avocado!

Amazing sushi! We only ever order from here… love it so much! We have been to a few other sushi places in town and elsewhere… nothing compares to Sushi 97! Great quality and always fresh!!
