I came across this restaurant through several posts and online recommendations, and I’m so glad I managed to get a reservation!
It was an outstanding experience. We ordered the restaurant’s set meal, and every dish was cooked to absolute perfection — each one was delicious, and the meat was unbelievably tender, melting in the mouth. We especially loved the steak, which was prepared with incredible skill. Honestly, it’s the best steak I’ve ever had in my life. A restaurant truly worthy of its reputation — highly recommended!

In addition, the staff and servers were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was relaxed and not overly formal.

If you’re a tourist, I strongly recommend not going out of your way to dine here in Hongo.

Their beef tongue uses the tip of the tongue, which is widely considered the worst part. I’ve been eating yakiniku in Japan for over ten years, and this is the first time I’ve ever seen a restaurant actually serve tongue tip. It was unbelievably tough, with extremely coarse fibers — genuinely unpleasant to eat.

The thick-cut skirt steak (harami) itself had potential, but it was poorly prepared with no tendon trimming, making it unnecessarily difficult to chew. Even worse, the thickness of each slice was inconsistent. Basic knife skills seem to be lacking.

Overall quality was very underwhelming. Frankly speaking, even Jojoen, a standard chain yakiniku restaurant, performs far better than this place — because this experience was simply disappointing.

The staff’s product knowledge was equally questionable. When asked about kainomi, they incorrectly identified it as harami, which raises concerns about their professionalism.

In short, the meat quality, preparation, knife work, and service knowledge do not justify the price point.

Excellent. Affordable and extremely tasty Yakiniku.

It’s a small shop and reservation is needed but by golly it’s good. The meat is super well prepared and the staff is friendly and sure to give you recommendations and instructions without trying to sell you more than you need.

Probably my best Wagyu meat experience in Japan so far!

Amazing food, amazing service. The chefs helped us with some of the cuts and also told us how much time to grill on each side. The premium cuts were out of this world.

Excellent yakiniku restaurant. Mostly beef but they have pork which also good. Really good quality of beef and their creation menu are impressive. English menu are available. I recommended their recommend menu are enough to enjoy their menu. Don’t forget the dessert, whole peach ice cream are really good. Staffs are helpful and English communicable. Credit card accepted. Very unassuming atmosphere. Food was excellent beyond any yakiniku I have eaten in Japan so far. The odd thing was there was a tv right above our heads and was a bit disruptive.

The absolute best food I had from our trip. Every round was fantastic but the steak was out of this world. It was definitely the best steak I’ve ever had. Highly recommend and would come back for sure.

Both expensive beef slice and standard slices have their own character. All are very tasty.

The Absolute Pinnacle of Tokyo Wagyu: Yakiniku Jambo Hanare
If there is one non-negotiable tradition when visiting Tokyo, it is securing a table at Yakiniku Jambo Hanare in Hongo. Calling it just a “steak dinner” almost feels like an understatement—this is a masterclass in A5 Kuroge Wagyu and hands down the best beef experience in the city.
Whether you are celebrating with family or catching up with friends, the lively, aromatic atmosphere immediately sets the stage for an unforgettable night. The moment you walk in, the sound of sizzling meat and the rich, savory smoke let you know you have arrived somewhere special

We have full course here. It contains 13 dishes which are great every bite we have. You can’t miss this place even it’s quite difficult to book.

Beef tongue here is quite thick.
Steak is juicy and tastes delicious.

It’s quite hard for us to pick the most favorite dish but we ordered Noharayaki additionally. It’s sukiyaki style beef.

Definitely come back if we can reserve again.
