Very happy to find this little gem in Thomastown. Fantastic meats from the grill all are very reasonable prices and a very good US smokehouse vibe too.
Really loved the brisket and sausage in my Big meal for 1 which easily feeds two people, will definitely come back to try their pork belly and beef ribs which I have heard good things about as well.

I had an amazing lunch here this afternoon.
I ordered the 200g brisket, there were plenty of gluten free options, the staff were also very knowledgeable about what items were safe and what had a cross contamination risk.
The food was fairly quick to come out, good temperature and a decent sized serve.
The staff were super friendly and made the entire process super quick and easy, even when traffic picked up and they got quite busy for a lunch rush, they remained friendly professional and efficient.
The toilet facilities were extremely clean and had an adorable design to the basin and mirror space.
The entire venue was also extremely quirky and fun to observe, notably their pig that welcomes you at the service counter. The Christmas decorations were also super cute.
We ordered another brisket serve to go, and it was again quick service despite the huge lunch rush that had occurred since we originally ordered.
Our iced coffees were also super yum and a really nice size too!
Definitely a spot to check out if you have a gluten allergy or coeliac as there is definitely menu options you can make work.

A good variety of menu choices and portions were very generous. Waiting staff were friendly and helpful.
The share platter was tasty, although there wasn’t much flavour in the beef ribs and they seemed a little dry. On the other hand, the pork spareribs were succulent and more of a hit. I wouldn’t recommend the mocktail at $10 which was definitely overpriced for what you get.
Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with family.

Really enjoyed the food here, I came with a partner and we shared the meat platter for 2, which left us more than full. Great portioning for the price you pay, definitely recommend. Service was friendly and welcoming and atmosphere felt traditional to the state of Texas. The food was definitely the highlight and made the experience worth it.

Yeeehaw this is an awesome BBQ restaurant, the platter for two is deceivingly large. Got the pork ribs which ended being too much but we have lunch for tomorrow. The beef brisket was so tender, the pulled lamb was out of the world, the only criticism here is the pork ribs weren’t as tender as we like but was still an 8/10. You do need to pay for food separately to the drinks which is a little annoying but didnt really bother us. Venue is clean, tables well placed, so much room for everyone and private section. Place was packed and worth it. Highly recommend but come hungry.

This was our first time dining at The Smoke Pit and we will definitely be back! From the moment we walked in the decor and atmosphere gave you the exact vibe you want from an American BBQ joint. We ordered the classic feed for 2 and were extremely happy with it all. The portion sizes were great, the pork was juicy, the brisket was tender and moist with a fantastic bark on the outside, the sausages packed full of flavour. Highly recommend anyone who loves BBQ as much as me to get to this place immediately. Added bonus is kids eat free on Sundays!

Been coming to Tight arse Tuesdays at The Smoke Pit with a group, for a few weeks now.
It’s great value and tasty food.
The burgers have been great, with the standout so far being the Southern Fried Chicken! I wanted the standout to be the brisket and while the flavour was really good, tonight’s burger was a little dry. The other two brisket burgers that came out at the same time we’re also dry. I have been assured by the guys that they’re usually bang on. So I’ll try again next week.
The staff are great.

From succulent and spine tingling sides such as corn on the cob, slaw, potato salad, bean and mac n cheese right through to mouth watering barbecue favourites smoked to perfection such as pulled pork, ribs, wings, burnt ends and beef brisket, the Smoke Pit has got it on the menu and served perfectly on a plate!

Everything was really delicious and the servings were a generous size. We had several beef, chicken and the pork dishes as well as the apple and pecan pies. The pecan pie was actually the nicest I have ever had. Would definitely eat here again.
