Basically had to eat here because it’s the only restaurant in this town that’s not fast food. Food was fast as far as the service goes. I’ve definitely had better Mexican than this. Order the special $1.50 margaritas for Monday. Don’t waste your &1.50 these are virgin margaritas but they don’t tell you that.

This place is consistently very good but Feb 23, 2025 the food was exceptionally GREAT. The chips and salsa were really good. We had eaten Mexican food at other places and the salsa was very salty tomato paste but Monterrey’s is always good, today it was so good we ate 2 baskets of hot fresh chips and 3 salsa bowls that were as good as home made. When we finished our meal, pictured here, we were so stuffed but happy HAPPY
Patrons. Staff, excellent, owners Son was there too, an exceptionally intelligent handsome young man, very friendly. Do yourself a favor, eat here, the lunch menu is reasonable enough to spend your gas money to come to Florala!!!

Always amazing food and service. This is one of our favorite little hidden gems! They are always super fast and friendly. The food is amazing and the prices are better then a lot of fast food. Really if you haven’t eaten here you missing out. Small town USA for the win!

My son got some kind of burrito, looked like dog food. My other son got carne asada tacos. He said had no taste. My husband and I shared a fajita enchilada…it was edible but the refried beans were not! Worst margarita I’ve ever had! Will not be going back! All this being said, Kelly, our server was new but was very attentive but then again the place was very small and only a couple of people in there…

Well established restaurant where locals eat. We have made it a “must stop” for many years when we visit Florala, Alabama and NW Florida. It is only a few miles from the highest point in Florida – Britton Hill at Lakewood.
