Really cool decor and warm, inviting atmosphere. Our server was friendly and accommodating. Food was good – got the sampler platter and Buffalo chicken salad, tried some fries. Housed in an historic building with lots of charming quirks.

Best choices of burgers, salads, wraps. Bar for drinks. Very cute antiques for decor, including a fire engine front and back. Great prices, amounts and taste of food. Definitely going back. Also an antique mall attached with awesome products.

The steak salad was wonderful. I’m not big on peppercorns, so I asked them to leave those off and add blue cheese crumbles & dressing. I highly recommend it! My husband enjoyed his chicken salad as well. It was great sitting outside & listening to the music!

Went on a cold windy Thursday night my husband and I for dinner. Our server was very nice and recommended what she liked on the menu. My husband had the grilled chicken breast with a side of veggies. I chose a grilled chicken breast marinated in a BBQ sauce and topped with cheese and bacon. I had a bake potato with butter and sour cream. Both plates had tiny portions and my husband was finished before I got my potato fixed. My chicken was cold in the middle and the cheese was not melted. I ate maybe 2 bites. My potato was hot but not done and hard inside. Disappointed to say the least especially for the price compared to the portions and taste. One bright spot was the lemon cake I had for dessert. It was very tasty. They had live music with several different artists rotating sets. The building is interesting if you like antique type stuff covering the walls. Not sure if this was an off night but we would pass if coming back to this area again.

If you’re in Fort Payne, definitely skip this place. The last time I ate here was 7 years ago and it was amazing. Rather than get into full detail, I will state the basic. It took us 1 1/2 hours to get our food because the grill slip “fell in between the cracks of something in the kitchen”, as told to us by the waitress, who never realized that our food wasn’t given to us . I had to go ask about our food after an hour, as she never even stopped to ask us anything about refills, etc. Waitress was very confused about us even being there, which was rather strange, because she had walked past us at least 12 times. This was NOT a busy night at all, which was also baffling. She finally brought out our appetizer and then stated she would be taking those off of our bill due to the amount of time it took to come out. She told us if we could wait for 10 more minutes, they would bring out the main entrées and they wouldn’t charge us for those either. At this point, we waited so long so we decided to go ahead and wait. I ordered the fried butterfly shrimp basket, and my son ordered the barbecue bacon cheeseburger. Upon arrival 30 minutes later, not 10, there were 6 super tiny “butterflied” shrimp that we’re about paper thin and ALL breading; potato salad was lukewarm and tasted weird, like it was going bad; and the corn was overcooked and mushy. My sons burger came out black and charred, after he asked for medium, no bbq sauce on it and they gave him sweet potato fries instead of regular, which he also asked for. To add, this restaurant is very expensive for the quality that they offer. Last, but not least, the waitstaff was super rude and didn’t offer any apology, except one young lady who wasn’t our waitress. I attached a picture of my supposedly big butterflied shrimp. Whole meal was pitiful. We will never return, the other few people in the establishment also stated they will never return. It was just that bad folks. Definitely consider McDonald’s instead.

I’m a Texan moving into the area so I am looking for great food and atmosphere. My wife grew up in Birmingham to answer the why here. We were invited to Vintage by our neighbors. We arrived at 5:30 on a Friday and quickly realized we wouldn’t have a seat if our neighbors hadn’t reserved a table. A local band called ‘The Locals’ were playing and the place was filling up quickly. Nearly every person walked in and hugged a few people if not all. We eventually ordered food. The ‘Jesse’ caught my attention. The description sounded like a hamburger made with donuts. I hesitated but my curiosity got the best of me. I ordered the Jesse and my wife ordered the French Dip. Both meals hit the spot and were delicious. The Jesse was surprisingly good. They should label it as sliders as it was 3 small burgers. It is sweeter than I expected, but the beef pulls the flavor closer to a balance. The band got started and they are amazing. Like white girl crazy amazing. They played a wide range of songs. From Nirvana to Hank. As the night was wrapping up, many people were walking around still greeting one another. We were new so several stopped to introduce themselves. My favorite was John Connor, the luckiest man to “s#!t behind sneakers”. I highly recommend Vintage 1889 but plan ahead. Don’t stop in for a quick bite.

Can’t believe Vintage 1889 has been here since 2012 and I am just now finding out about it. Food is excellent. I can recommend the Flatbread tomato pie, goat cheese pesto dip with pita, and Cuban sandwich. And they have beer! Small local family business. Friendly, helpful wait staff. (Special thanks to Danielle the cool bird rehabber.) This place is so interesting, they have bicycles hanging from the ceiling, and the front of a firetruck made into a window. (Yes kid-friendly.) Outdoor seating, in addition to quite a few tables with chairs inside. Good for families and groups. The restaurant is even attached to super cute Vintage 1889 antique shop with many booths full of collectibles. We will be back! Highly recommend.

We visited this small quaint restaurant while staying at Desoto State Park. The staff were amazing and food was very good. We tried the spinach artichoke dip, the veggie sandwich with gouda soup, and Flatbread. We are vegetarian and the food for us was very delicious. I would definitely recommend this place.

If you travel through the area and are looking for a very cool “local” experience, it doesn’t get any better than this. The restaurant is part of a historic, once world renowned sock making factory that makes for some amazing atmosphere. The staff was friendly and the food was prompt and delicious. They encouraged us to look around and we saw some of the old machines that still had thread in them from the day they were turned off. All this and it was only lunch time. I can’t wait to pass back through on a Friday or Saturday night and see a band or just socialize with the locals and sample their dinner menu.

Brought my family to see Desoto Falls for vacation.
We planned to eat at Vintage 1889 before even getting into town!
