This place is freaking adorable. The food was good, mainly burgers and sandwiches. But they had buffalo meat and it was quite competent in implementation. Service was slow, but they only had one worker so I can’t fault him for that. The atmosphere was amazing like a Cracker Barrel on steroids. They also had a backyard with horseshoes and cornhole. Nearby was an old grist mill, which was neat to go in. It’s a long way from Blacksburg but if you’re looking for something to do it certainly an option.

This is really a special place to take friends and family. It is peaceful, beautiful drive to get there and their food is very well prepared. The service is fast and very friendly from the staff. The large fireplace is so warm and inviting and the gifts in the gift shop so unique.

Surprised is an understatement. Drove here wanting a burger, based on the location was expecting something just mediocre and average. I am thrilled to say this place has one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long while. This place is worth going out of your way to eat at. I look forward to coming back and trying some of their other options.

If you like good food, service and atmosphere, this is the place to go. Went on a Saturday for lunch. It was busy but we were seated right away. Server was very polite and attentive. Food did not take long to prepare. Reasonable prices. Checkout the General Store before you leave!

Interesting place! The General Store at the front has staples and snacks for those staying nearby. The Swinging Bridge has the restaurant on the bottom floor and a panoramic Christmas themed gift shop above. It was delightful! The food was pretty good. We enjoyed our time here.

Visited twice walked by multiple employees and no one says hi or even recognizes that I’m there which is strange for Appalachia. So things no employee will tell you are there’s an upstairs and to get there you go into the restaurant area and walk up the stairs. Behind the building there is a Mill with a water wheel. Cool stuff if someone would tell you.

I rarely complain, but the sliced Buffalo meat sandwiches they refenctly served our party here were practically inedible. We ordered four separate plates of this item, and each one was impossible to properly chew because of the excess fat content of the meat slices. A little bit of fat sneaking in here and there is normal, but for four separate sandwiches that totally suck hitting one table at one time is inexcusable. This dinner was served around 4:30pm on 10/23/24. Other visits here over the years were delightful, so this precipitous drop in quality came as quite a surprise. Fortunately, all four plates were removed from our bill. We do love this place and its fantastic location and will return.
