Our favorite thing about Chefs Cut Pizza is the very friendly staff – some very lovely people. The atmosphere is fun and kind of funky, both the decor and music. It has about 8 tap beer options, including a pale ale and a couple of American lagers. And the pizza is traditional with a yummy, unique crust. There are also salads and a sizable list of sandwiches.

The Heart (and Stomach) of Louisville – A Must-Stop for Any Road Trip!
We rolled into town late on a cross-country road trip, hungry, tired, and with two kids in tow—only to realize Chef’s Cut was technically closed. But instead of turning us away, the owner himself fired up the ovens and made us a pizza anyway. Who does that?! That alone would’ve been worth 5 stars.
But it gets better.
We came back the next day to thank them—and the Chef (who we later found out is the owner) treated our kids like his own. He brought them behind the counter, gave them dough, sauce, and toppings, and let them make their very own pizzas. You could see their faces light up like it was Christmas morning.
The food? Incredible. Perfect crust, rich sauce, generous toppings—but it’s the people that make Chef’s Cut something special. In a world of corporate chains and soulless service, this place is pure gold.
If you’re anywhere near East Louisville, stop what you’re doing and go. Chef’s Cut isn’t just a pizzeria—it’s a memory waiting to happen.

The chicken wings were hot and crispy! The pizza was topped with lots of good ingredients. Our waitress was very friendly and gave good recommendations. The kitchen and staff areas are definitely in need of a wipe down.

Go for the pizza! This was a cozy pizza spot on the other side of the train tracks from the ice rink. The pizza crust had great garlic parmesan flavor and was well balanced between crispy outside and soft inside. The toppings were just right to include the cheese. We ordered the meat lovers and a Hawaiian pizza and they were delicious. They offered various pizza sizes for all sizes of bellies to fill. My hubby was not a big fan of the wings and said it was just ok. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It’s probably not big enough for a party over 10. I will definitely return.

We got the pepperoni and BBQ pizza. They were both very good. The small with topping is probably about good for one person- split an app if you’re hungry. The large would be good split between two people. This place has a dive bar feel in pizza form. It must be good, there was a constant flow of people coming in to pick up orders.

Really good pizza made by a family-business. I only did takeout pizza, but the order was accurate and pretty cheap. Ingredients were top notch. The dining room was small, but clean and welcoming, so we’ll be back for the full service.
