I was hoping to post a great review but was so disappointed 🙁 I ordered a cheeseburger and although the flavor was good, the cheese was literally thicker than the patty itself. Please don’t skimp out on the burger part of your burgers! The server was friendly but food could be better portioned.

My friend ate here at Burger Bob’s Drive-In in Baker City Oregon… She loved her restaurant menu order. Back several decades ago there use to be an In and out burger.

We are visiting from out of town and this sounded like a good option since we were too tired for a sit down restaurant and didn’t really want fast food. It was a busy Friday, but the wait wasn’t too bad and the time I did wait was definitely worth it. I recommend calling ahead to pick up. Burger joints like this are my absolute favorite and are far and few between. What a hidden gem! Or maybe not so hidden if you’re a local. I also was happy to have curly fries for the first time in years. And if you’re on the fence about adding an egg to your burger, just go for it. This is definitely top of my list for places to try again when I’m in town next.

Stopped in for lunch before heading out backpacking. The cashier was super friendly and chatty. Ordered three burgers with fries and drinks and it took about 10-15 minutes to get our food, which was impressive considering the amount of other orders at the time.
The food was great! Not greasy like some drive-ins are. The burgers were a good size for their cost and cooked to perfection.
Would definitely visit again next time I’m in the area.

We ordered one order of fries, a chicken sandwich, a regular burger, and an order of 4 chicken nuggets. We waited for our food for 45 minutes, just sitting there in our car. There was one time, about 15 minutes in, a lady handed us a small bag out of the window but as soon as my husband opened it to make sure it was right, she said, “Oh, that’s not yours,” and took it back to give to someone else after his hand had already been in the bag. When our order finally came, there was no apology, not even an acknowledgement that it shouldn’t take 45 whole minutes to make fast food. At least it was very hot when we got it. The fries were bland and the fry sauce was very ketchup heavy with no other flavor infused in it. I guess the chicken nuggets and sandwich were what you’d expect–according to the ones who tried them. The burger was so dry and overdone and unseasoned with anything but salt. And the bun was not cooked all the way. It was heavy and semi-raw in the middle like it needed another 5-10 minutes in the oven. I took three small bites and couldn’t eat it anymore. Maybe they make them there and they are usually good? I hope this was a fluke, because the people of Baker City deserve better.
There were three workers there when we were there and we were the fourth car in the lot, so we didn’t expect such a wait. There was a boy of about 20 years old who was making all of the food and then two older women running around like chickens with their heads cut off, not doing anything but frantically fretting.
I will not give this place a second chance if ever we find ourselves needing food in Baker City, OR again.

Pretty darn good cheese burger and the fries really tasty. They have a pastrami sandwich which i will try next time I go. No real seating though I ride a bike so I sat inside on a bench and had my meal.

Friendly staff, great prices, but the burgers would have been better if they would have remembered the onion and tomatoes on it. Since they asked me if I wanted them. The fries were great, glad we got the smallest order of them, even then we couldn’t finish them.

I have been coming to Burger Bob’s for the better part of 20 years as my family has come back to visit my grandparents.
Burger Bob and his crew are some of the nicest, patient, and loving people you will meet! They make a mouth-watering burger and at a great price. Today I ordered a Super Baconeer (1/3 lb), a small mint shake, and a small fry. Delicious!
If you are passing through Baker (or Baker City, if you remember it that way), don’t forget to stop by Burger Bob’s (formerly known as Happy Burger).

There’s not very many options in Baker City for food. Burger Bob’s is pretty pricey for the portions but then again this is a Mormon owned establishment (gotta pay those tithing fees to the church). I really like the drive-in atmosphere. There’s always a line here at all times of the day, but even if there isn’t, be prepared to wait awhile for your food. If you don’t like waiting I suggest calling your food in ahead of time. Sometimes Burger Bob himself will come out and talk to you.
