We came back here today during our trip and ordered beef tartare entrée like promised with our waiter last time. Despite we couldn’t meet him but the food was exceptional like the last time.

The best dinning experience we had in our 3 day in Lancaster.
Every dished from this restaurant is good, from the starters- dessert. The staff, he was so friendly and come to check on us frequently, despite we came with our baby stroller and we need to seat in a different room, quite aside from the main place.
I’M addicted to beef tartare therefore I should give it a try here. And as expected it was excellent from the taste to the freshness, I also love that they have generous crossing to finish the good amount of tartare, however We still had to order another one because is too. Highly recommended If we happen to pass by Lancaster we will definitely coming back

Food and service were exceptional! Highly recommended. Not pictured is their flourless chocolate cake and salted caramel sesame cheesecake – both which were delicious!!!

One note – music was a bit too loud (hard to hear each other talking).

My first time here on Christmas Eve and the food was amazing and the service was impeccable. My lamb was cooked perfectly. Staff is so attentive. Amazing dinner! I was so impressed. I came back and had a couple drinks at the bar tonight. Excellent drinks and service at the bar also. Very organized and highly recommended. The entire staff was A+!

One of the best restaurants on the planet, I’m not kidding you, this is my new favorite restaurant in all the world. The neat thing is that it is right here in Lancaster, we discovered it using this new App called “Seed Oil Scout” if you want to eat healthier, I would highly recommend joining. It is new so it is going to take some time for restaurants to get reviewed and listed but there are not very many restaurants serving healthy food to begin with. This place is, Farm to table!! My wife and I were blown away by the flavors, she said that her salad made her think that she was at her grandma’s house. I started with their trademark beef tartare which comes with a quail egg in the center, delicious, I ran out of wafers and used the rest of our bread to finish. My wife had a couple of drinks which were very nice. We shared the steak and a taco platter with homemade taco shells. I didn’t even want to eat the steak or taco, they looked so beautiful. It didn’t end there, the desserts were just as good. My wife had a tart and I homemade peach sorbet. I didn’t even mention the service, which was absolutely superb. We will be returning as soon as humanly possible. We have already told several friends that frequent Lancaster, Pa

My family and I come to Lancaster once or twice per year, my sister and I stumbled upon this gem 4 years ago. We are both HUGE fans of beef tartare, and was pleasantly surprised to see that they offer it as an entree here, while most other restaurants have it as an appetizer only! Needless to say, we prioritize making JJJ a dinner stop EVERY time we’re in town! We always get the tartare which is fabulous, and all of the soups, apps, and cocktails are always wonderful as well. The staff is always extremely nice and knowledgeable! See you next time JJJ!

I don’t post often, and only post for exceptionable experiences. This is one of our favorite restaurants, even if it’s a bit of a drive for us. Everything we’ve had were high quality ingredients perfectly prepared. Of special note on our last meal was the liver, perfectly seared and a correct temperature, few kitchens can so perfectly execute this dish to such perfection. Great selection of wine by the glass. Worth the drive.

My husband and I decided to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary here. We enjoyed the food immensely and Abby was a delightful server. She went above and beyond to make our evening even more special. I highly recommend coming for a special night out. We will definitely be back!

We loved everything about this restaurant ; the food; the service and atmosphere. Abby our server was amazing; she anticipated our needs and brought everything we needed without us asking. Abby explained everything that was on the menu and off the menu. She checked on us frequently and our glasses were never empty. The food is so good. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

A memorable meal, that’s for sure. The food is fresh and cooked with great care, the staff is attentive, and the wine selection runs the whole gamut but with great local representation. The bone marrow and the duck are both *chef’s miss*, and I’m going to hope the kombucha is still there next time I visit!

This place is hands down one of the top restaurants in Pennsylvania, maybe even the United States. Places can definitely benefit from taking lessons how they prepare food here at John J Jeffries. My wife and I were taking back by how delicious everything was prepared and tasted. Down to the scrumptious dessert.
We discovered this place while while visiting Lancaster one weekend, there is a great app the I highly recommend call Seed Oil Scout, it’s less than $10 for a whole year and it lets you know what restaurants cook with healthy methods. Extra Virgin Olive Oil, instead of the poisonous seed oil which are slowly killing our society. This place is the best, farm to table. I’ve eaten at some of the nicest restaurants in the Philadelphia area and nothing comes close.
I was very taken back by some of the one star ⭐ reviews, I recommend that everyone due their due diligence and check the one star reviews first it gives you a good idea of what the place is going to be like, unfortunately you have to wade through a bunch of spoiled brats that just like to complain, one person goes on about their bratty loud kid and how they were racially profiled, really. Some people just think their kids can do no wrong. I have 14 and believe me, sometimes they are loud and need to go to the bathroom for a spanking. If you do read the 1 star reviews you will unfortunately see a trend, it’s not the food. Staffing issues comes up over and over, it’s very difficult in this day and age to find good help and as you can see they can encourage people to leave undeserved one⭐ Also it’s interesting to mention that when you look at Newest reviews there is a one ⭐ and 2 ⭐⭐ ⭐’s reviews but they were nearly 6 months ago so hopefully the issues have been addressed. I wish John J Jeffries all the luck. I can’t wait to eat their again. I have shared our experience with countless friends. Plus our server was extraordinary! Thank you.
