If you can’t decide where to go for barbecue, just come here. I don’t like bbq and I haven’t found “juicy” or good brisket anywhere. THIS PLACE on the other hand, 10/10 juicy BRISKET. Affordable! I also bought more to bring home for my parents. Great atmosphere and the BBQ sauce was delicious too. Owner is such a nice guy as well. Super chill spot. We also had desert, banana pudding and chocolate cake!

Old Tomball BBQ is the real deal. I had a delicious meal of tender ribs with classic coleslaw and beans, and everything hit the spot. It’s especially encouraging to see stacks of wood out front—always a good sign that the BBQ is prepared onsite, slow-cooked, and properly smoked. You can taste the care in every bite. Even better, it’s a family-run small business, and I love supporting places like this. Highly recommended.

Dude, I got a half-pound of brisket, and the portions seemed tiny compared to other places. I was like, “Are they trying to rip me off?” Whatever. I also got a whole chicken. It was thirty bucks total, and I usually don’t mind, but I felt kinda ripped off.
The brisket was okay at best. It was super peppery, and that was pretty much it for the seasoning. I’m bummed about the small portion, which I even weighed, and I paid fourteen bucks for it, and it had no flavor.
Then the chicken. DRY! DRY! DRY! I’ve never had a dry BBQ chicken leg. The meat was dry, and there was no flavor.
This place was a letdown, to say the least. What’s worse is that their website says they have the best BBQ in Tomball. Nope! No flavor and small portions. I went once before and liked it, but not today. BBQ is too expensive to get ripped off on the cheap.
I’m not going back. I’ll just BBQ in my backyard for now… even when I’m lazy after work.

First time going to Old Tomball BBQ and I honestly feel bad I didn’t try it sooner. The moist brisket was as good as any top-tier BBQ place I’ve ever been to — perfectly seasoned, tender, and full of flavor. The ribs were exactly how they should be: tender with a great bite, but not falling apart. And the BBQ sauce was absolutely amazing — the perfect balance of sweet and tangy that complemented everything on the plate.
If you’re anywhere near Tomball and love great barbecue, this place is a must-try. I’ll definitely be back!

Honestly one of the best local BBQ spots around. Family owned and you can feel it the second you walk in. The brisket is top notch, no question. The whole vibe is laid back and old timey, like one of those spots that’s been around forever and doesn’t need to prove anything. Just good food, good people

This is my go-to BBQ spot in Houston. Just as good as or better than the “most famous” spots in the city. Absolutely worth the drive out to Tomball. Service is always excellent. I order the moist sliced brisket, and it’s consistently amazing no matter what day of the week/time of day. I believe they recently changed their potato salad recipe, it is FANTASTIC!! I order to-go at least every other week. Also, their prices are great!!! This place should be packed everyday of the week with a line wrapped around the parking lot.

The man at the counter was friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was great, simple and comfortable. I got a 2 meat plate with brisket and ribs, and my wife got a chopped beef baked potato. Everything tasted amazing, the fat on the brisket was rendered perfectly and melted away. Potato salad and beans were fantastic. Nothing fancy about the place itself and that made it that much better. Will be going again and would definitely recommend!

I can literally kick myself for never stopping by sooner. This place is great. It was the most tender brisket I’ve had. The ribs were seasoned perfectly, and the sausage has a good spicy kick. Everything was flavorful and to our liking. The customer service we received was excellent. We loved everything overall, and we will return.

If you are looking for a hole in the wall place to eat at, this is it. Need a place that is rustic and no frills, this is it.
And unfortunately, that was it.
My partner and I ordered 2 dishes, the 2 meats and 2 sides which was about ~$15.00. We got the sausage, brisket, ribs, mac and cheese, beans and fries- bread was also included. To drink, we got a lemonade and a bottle of Dr. Pepper.
We were unsure about what to order, but the staff wasn’t offering up any help either. When paying almost $40.00, we asked the gal for a cup with no ice and then she proceeded to go and scoop some. My partner said it louder so that she heard twice and finally she just gave us the cup.
Now to the food, when it came to taste, let’s just say the fries were more seasoned than the rest of the food. The brisket was extremely fatty and charred. The sausage was basic store quality and the ribs were alright, but the quantity was smaller than we’d like. Mac and cheese seemed box made and the beans weren’t tasteful at all.
The BBQ sauce on the table was very tangy and acidic, definitely not something we would indulge in again.
Ultimately, we were very disappointed with the customer service, food and quantity. We were recommended to try this place by friends that loved it, but unfortunately that wasn’t our experience. We will not be returning and this was a DNF (did not finish) from us.

I pulled up around 11:30 am. Had a friend tell me that I needed to try this BBQ place out. So glad I did . The food was Great I ordered 1 Meat and 2 Sides for 13$. I got Sliced Brisket, Beans, and French Fries . It comes with a couple of slices of bread , pickles , Onion , jalapeno ️, and BBQ Sauce is on the Table HOT and steaming. The Brisket was Moist and had great flavor with or without BBQ Sauce. The beans seem to have a great smoke taste and not sweet at all. The Fries were crispy and had a unique seasoning. The atmosphere is your typical Texans country old Barn look nice and cozy, they even have a back patio to go out and enjoy the weather ️ when it’s good . One thing I will say that needs improvement is the Bathroom situation it’s only one toilet and the door don’t close all the way so the people outside can see you thru the crack. Also there is NO HAND SOAP, there is a soap dispenser but that don’t work. Overall had a good time here at Old Tomball BBQ, I will come back when in the area.
