Delicious pastries + sweets and even better service – Mr Ed himself was there and let us try a few samples of his homemade butters and jellies. They were all phenomenal and such a great “souvenir” to bring home to enjoy a taste of Hawaii. Highly recommend the mango habanero jelly and lilikoi (passion fruit) butter.

The owner (Mr. Ed) is like a kind magical bread wizard. Everything in there looks amazing and is amazing. We got a giant cinnamon roll, a guava bearclaw, and Hawaiian sweet bread pudding and all of it was just great. We also got four breakfast sandwiches which were also great! Everything about this place is just perfect and it all tasted amazing. ♂️

Bakery got destroyed in an electrical fire in 2025. They sell jams mostly, they also keep cookies from a nearby bakery. Took a coffee to support, but was burnt diner variety. Skip.

Amazing hole in the wall bakery. Mr. Ed will let you sample any of his 208 varieties of jelly, jam, fruit butter, and marmalade while he tells you stories about how he invented them.
The baked goods are really tasty as well.

We stopped by here after visiting rainbow falls. What a little gem of a store! The baked items were delicious and the homemade jams were wonderful too, it was hard to choose which flavor to take home! We chose pineapple mango and sweet potato and coconut. Definitely recommend and would come back!

This place is such a cool spot! The baked goods are simply incredible. The jams and preserves are out of this world. Don’t skip the breakfast sandwiches either, they’re made fresh to order and the flavors are absolutely amazing.

We were staying at a cabin nearby that provided some coupons for free breakfast here. Mr Ed was already up and running at 6am with pastries and not coffee – which was great because I had an early flight to catch. I had a bear claw with apple filling and it was yummy. It was so big that I had the other half the following day for breakfast. Mr Ed was super friendly too and chatted with us about life on the island.

Unfortunately not much in the way of baked goods when we stopped and we probably would have left it at that and went on our way if not for Wyatt, the extremely helpful and knowledgeable gentleman operating the counter and bombarding us with endless samples of their jams/sauces/fruit butters etc.
Very impressive range of flavours, several featuring local fruits we had never seen or heard of. Wyatt was happy to share his knowledge of the products and sample whatever we wanted of the many dozens of options available.

Must stop when you visit akaka falls. The young kids working were so awesome + knowledgeable. They told us exactly where to go catch tad poles:) and knew the history of the building. Cool historical pictures too. Shaved ice starts at only $4.95. In Hilo it’s around $7. There can be a wait if there’s alot if peoole ordering shaved ice because there’s only one station. Shortbread chocolate chip cookies were $5 and really good. We didn’t sample the jam but there was a ton of different flavors.
